Preparing for Jesus’ Return: When he returns, will you be a true Christian or will you be a Christless Christian?

John 14:23-24 New International Version – UK (NIVUK) 23 Jesus replied, ‘Anyone who loves me will obey my teaching. My Father will love them, and we will come to them and make our home with them. 24 Anyone who does not love me will not obey my teaching. These words you hear are not my own; they belong to the Father who sent me.

Notice that Jesus said, “my teaching” not the Bibles teaching. His, Jesus’, teaching is given through the Holy Spirit who also gave us the Biblical teaching. However, those described in John 14:24 corrupted the Biblical teaching. In fact, it’s believed that the original Bible has disappeared and subsequent Bibles have some changes from the Bibles they replaced. Some early Denominations actually had Bibles that the people could not read. I was in a Missionary Training Classroom and stated that “John 14:23 was my experience” and the Leader who was teaching us inferred to the other students that I was mad. Many who claim to be Christian Teachers, do not obey those of the Lord Jesus given through the Holy Spirit of God.

Without the Holy Spirit of God a teacher cannot teach that which he does not understand! Jesus taught in, John 14:25 ‘All this I have spoken while still with you. 26 But the Advocate, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in my name, will teach you all things and will remind you of everything I have said to you.’

Tozer said: Not everything good that God says about people in the Bible is for everybody, but only for His true servants, who must receive this. All things may be objectively true but are not subjective true. Faith and obedience are necessary to work this transformation. All promises for the blessing of people are only for those people described in John 14:23. For those people in John 14:24, the promises of blessings from God do not apply. When the Holy Spirit uses me to offer my Spiritual and Worldly Gifts to a person, in Churchianity or not, they are to be listened too and obeyed. When I am shunned, ignored, or disobeyed, they must pay the penalty.

It’s not about me being a Lord, far from it, I am a servant of Jesus Christ and am sent to educate not eradicate people.

2 Corinthians 4:4 The god of this age has blinded the minds of unbelievers, so that they cannot see the light of the gospel that displays the glory of Christ, who is the image of God.

The Leaders of Churchianity, John 14:24, or those in John 14:23, who decide to backslide and teach in a way that stops people from being able to be educated by the Holy Spirit. It is these whom must face the greater punishment from God, in the person of The Lord Jesus Christ.

The early Apostle, James said this to Members of the Spiritual Body of Christ who desired to be Teachers.

Taming the tongue
3 Not many of you should become teachers, my fellow believers, because you know that we who teach will be judged more strictly.

Time and again I witness false teachings by the Christian Teachers. Now I am not talking about those in the earlier stages of their witnessing for Jesus. We all have to learn. BUT! Time and again I witness that these Teachers have been led by Leaders who do not know the meaning of what they teach. How can they be Leaders if they do not know, understand and obey the basic doctrines in the Holy Bible.

Here is one Doctrine that is often not taught or obeyed.

Believing God.
Mark 11:22 “Have faith in God,” Jesus answered.

John 14:1 “Do not let your hearts be troubled. Trust in God; trust also in me.

Fearing God.
Ecclesiastes 12:13 Now all has been heard; here is the conclusion of the matter: Fear God and keep his commandments, for this is the whole [duty] of man.

1 Peter 2:17 Show proper respect to everyone: Love the brotherhood of believers, fear God, honour the king.

loving God.
Deuteronomy 6:5 Love the LORD your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your strength.

Matthew 22:37 Jesus replied: “`Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind.’

Following God.
Ephesians 5:1 Be imitators of God, therefore, as dearly loved children

1 Peter 1:15 But just as he who called you is holy, so be holy in all you do; 16 for it is written: “Be holy, because I am holy.”

Obeying God.

Luke 1:6 Both of them were upright in the sight of God, observing all the Lord’s commandments and regulations blamelessly.

Rejoicing in God.
Psalms 33:1 Sing joyfully to the LORD, you righteous; it is fitting for the upright to praise him.

Habakkuk 3:18 yet I will rejoice in the LORD, I will be joyful in God my Saviour.

Believing in Christ.
John 6:29 Jesus answered, “The work of God is this: to believe in the one he has sent.”

Galatians 2:20 I have been crucified with Christ and I no longer live, but Christ lives in me. The life I live in the body, I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me.

Loving Christ.
John 21:15 When they had finished eating, Jesus said to Simon Peter, “Simon son of John, do you truly love me more than these?” “Yes, Lord,” he said, “you know that I love you.” Jesus said, “Feed my lambs.”

Ephesians 6:24 Grace to all who love our Lord Jesus Christ with an undying love.

Following the example of Christ.
John 13:15 I have set you an example that you should do as I have done for you.

1 Peter 2:21 To this you were called, because Christ suffered for you, leaving you an example, that you should follow in his steps. 22 “He committed no sin, and no deceit was found in his mouth.” 23 When they hurled their insults at him, he did not retaliate; when he suffered, he made no threats. Instead, he entrusted himself to him who judges justly. 24 He himself bore our sins in his body on the tree, so that we might die to sins and live for righteousness; by his wounds you have been healed.

Obeying Christ.
John 14:21 Whoever has my commands and obeys them, he is the one who loves me. He who loves me will be loved by my Father, and I too will love him and show myself to him.”

John 15:14 You are my friends if you do what I command.

Living.

To Christ.
Romans 14:8 If we live, we live to the Lord; and if we die, we die to the Lord. So, whether we live or die, we belong to the Lord.

2 Corinthians 5:15 And he died for all, that those who live should no longer live for themselves but for him who died for them and was raised again.

Godly in Christ Jesus.
2 Timothy 3:12 In fact, everyone who wants to live a godly life in Christ Jesus will be persecuted,

Unto righteousness.
Romans 6:18 You have been set free from sin and have become slaves to righteousness.

1 Peter 2:24 He himself bore our sins in his body on the tree, so that we might die to sins and live for righteousness; by his wounds you have been healed.

Soberly, righteously, and godly.
Titus 2:12 It teaches us to say “No” to ungodliness and worldly passions, and to live self-controlled, upright and godly lives in this present age,

Walking.

Worthy of God.
1 Thessalonians 2:12 encouraging, comforting and urging you to live lives worthy of God, who calls you into his kingdom and glory.

Worthy of the Lord.
Colossians 1:10 And we pray this in order that you may live a life worthy of the Lord and may please him in every way: bearing fruit in every good work, growing in the knowledge of God,

In the Spirit.
Galatians 5:25 Since we live by the Spirit, let us keep in step with the Spirit.

After the Spirit.
Romans 8:1 Therefore, there is now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus,

In newness of life.
Romans 6:4 We were therefore buried with him through baptism into death in order that, just as Christ was raised from the dead through the glory of the Father, we too may live a new life.

Worthy of our vocation.
Ephesians 4:1 As a prisoner for the Lord, then, I urge you to live a life worthy of the calling you have received.

As children of light.
Ephesians 5:8 For you were once darkness, but now you are light in the Lord. Live as children of light

Rejoicing in Christ.
John 15:12 My command is this: Love each other as I have loved you.

Romans 12:10 Be devoted to one another in brotherly love. Honour one another above yourselves.

1 Corinthians 13:3 If I give all I possess to the poor and surrender my body to the flames, but have not love, I gain nothing.

Ephesians 5:2 and live a life of love, just as Christ loved us and gave himself up for us as a fragrant offering and sacrifice to God.

Hebrews 13:1 Keep on loving each other as brothers.

Striving for the faith.
Philippians 1:27 Whatever happens, conduct yourselves in a manner worthy of the gospel of Christ. Then, whether I come and see you or only hear about you in my absence, I will know that you stand firm in one spirit, contending as one man for the faith of the gospel

Jude 1:3 Dear friends, although I was very eager to write to you about the salvation we share, I felt I had to write and urge you to contend for the faith that was once for all entrusted to the saints.

Putting away all sin.
1 Corinthians 5:7 Get rid of the old yeast that you may be a new batch without yeast–as you really are. For Christ, our Passover lamb, has been sacrificed.

Hebrews 12:1 Therefore, since we are surrounded by such a great cloud of witnesses, let us throw off everything that hinders and the sin that so easily entangles, and let us run with perseverance the race marked out for us.

Abstaining from all appearance of evil.
1 Thessalonians 5:22 Avoid every kind of evil.

Perfecting holiness.
Matthew 5:48 Be perfect, therefore, as your heavenly Father is perfect.

2 Corinthians 7:1 Since we have these promises, dear friends, let us purify ourselves from everything that contaminates body and spirit, perfecting holiness out of reverence for God.

2 Timothy 3:17 so that the man of God may be thoroughly equipped for every good work.

Hating defilement.
Jude 1:23 snatch others from the fire and save them; to others show mercy, mixed with fear–hating even the clothing stained by corrupted flesh.

Following after that which is good.
Philippians 4:8 Finally, brothers, whatever is true, whatever is noble, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is admirable–if anything is excellent or praiseworthy–think about such things.

1 Thessalonians 5:15 Make sure that nobody pays back wrong for wrong, but always try to be kind to each other and to everyone else.

1 Timothy 6:11 But you, man of God, flee from all this, and pursue righteousness, godliness, faith, love, endurance and gentleness.

Overcoming the world.
1 John 5:4 for everyone born of God overcomes the world. This is the victory that has overcome the world, even our faith. 5 Who is it that overcomes the world? Only he who believes that Jesus is the Son of God.

Adorning the gospel.
Philippians 1:27 Whatever happens, conduct yourselves in a manner worthy of the gospel of Christ. Then, whether I come and see you or only hear about you in my absence, I will know that you stand firm in one spirit, contending as one man for the faith of the gospel

Titus 2:10 and not to steal from them, but to show that they can be fully trusted, so that in every way they will make the teaching about God our Saviour attractive.

Showing a good example.
1 Timothy 4:12 Don’t let anyone look down on you because you are young, but set an example for the believers in speech, in life, in love, in faith and in purity.

1 Peter 2:12 Live such good lives among the pagans that, though they accuse you of doing wrong, they may see your good deeds and glorify God on the day he visits us.

Abounding in the work of the Lord.
1 Corinthians 15:58 Therefore, my dear brothers, stand firm. Let nothing move you. Always give yourselves fully to the work of the Lord, because you know that your labour in the Lord is not in vain.

2 Corinthians 8:7 But just as you excel in everything–in faith, in speech, in knowledge, in complete earnestness and in your love for us –see that you also excel in this grace of giving.

1 Thessalonians 4:1 Finally, brothers, we instructed you how to live in order to please God, as in fact you are living. Now we ask you and urge you in the Lord Jesus to do this more and more.

Shunning the wicked.
Psalms 1:1 Blessed is the man who does not walk in the counsel of the wicked or stand in the way of sinners or sit in the seat of mockers.

2 Thessalonians 3:6 In the name of the Lord Jesus Christ, we command you, brothers, to keep away from every brother who is idle and does not live according to the teaching you received from us.

Controlling the body.
1 Corinthians 9:27 No, I beat my body and make it my slave so that after I have preached to others, I myself will not be disqualified for the prize.

Colossians 3:5 Put to death, therefore, whatever belongs to your earthly nature: sexual immorality, impurity, lust, evil desires and greed, which is idolatry.

Subduing the temper.
Ephesians 4:26 “In your anger do not sin”: Do not let the sun go down while you are still angry,

James 1:19 My dear brothers, take note of this: Everyone should be quick to listen, slow to speak and slow to become angry,

Submitting to injuries.
Matthew 5:39 But I tell you, Do not resist an evil person. If someone strikes you on the right cheek, turn to him the other also. 40 And if someone wants to sue you and take your tunic, let him have your cloak as well. 41 If someone forces you to go one mile, go with him two miles.

Forgiving injuries.
Matthew 6:14 For if you forgive men when they sin against you, your heavenly Father will also forgive you.

Romans 12:20 On the contrary: “If your enemy is hungry, feed him; if he is thirsty, give him something to drink. In doing this, you will heap burning coals on his head.”

Living peaceably with all.
Romans 12:18 If it is possible, as far as it depends on you, live at peace with everyone.

Hebrews 12:14 Make every effort to live in peace with all men and to be holy; without holiness no one will see the Lord.

Visiting the afflicted.
Matthew 25:36 I needed clothes and you clothed me, I was sick and you looked after me, I was in prison and you came to visit me.’

James 1:27 Religion that God our Father accepts as pure and faultless is this: to look after orphans and widows in their distress and to keep oneself from being polluted by the world.

Doing as we would be done by.
Matthew 7:12 So in everything, do to others what you would have them do to you, for this sums up the Law and the Prophets.

Luke 6:31 Do to others as you would have them do to you.

Sympathising with others.
Romans 12:15 Rejoice with those who rejoice; mourn with those who mourn.

1 Thessalonians 5:14 And we urge you, brothers, warn those who are idle, encourage the timid, help the weak, be patient with everyone.

Honouring others.
Psalms 15:4 who despises a vile man but honours those who fear the LORD, who keeps his oath even when it hurts,

Romans 12:10 Be devoted to one another in brotherly love. Honour one another above yourselves.

Fulfilling domestic duties.
Ephesians 6:1 Children, obey your parents in the Lord, for this is right. 2 “Honour your father and mother”–which is the first commandment with a promise– 3 “that it may go well with you and that you may enjoy long life on the earth.” 4 Fathers, do not exasperate your children; instead, bring them up in the training and instruction of the Lord. 5 Slaves, obey your earthly masters with respect and fear, and with sincerity of heart, just as you would obey Christ. 6 Obey them not only to win their favour when their eye is on you, but like slaves of Christ, doing the will of God from your heart. 7 Serve wholeheartedly, as if you were serving the Lord, not men, 8 because you know that the Lord will reward everyone for whatever good he does, whether he is slave or free.

1 Peter 3:1 Wives, in the same way be submissive to your husbands so that, if any of them do not believe the word, they may be won over without words by the behaviour of their wives, 2 when they see the purity and reverence of your lives. 3 Your beauty should not come from outward adornment, such as braided hair and the wearing of gold jewellery and fine clothes. 4 Instead, it should be that of your inner self, the unfading beauty of a gentle and quiet spirit, which is of great worth in God’s sight. 5 For this is the way the holy women of the past who put their hope in God used to make themselves beautiful. They were submissive to their own husbands, 6 like Sarah, who obeyed Abraham and called him her master. You are her daughters if you do what is right and do not give way to fear. 7 Husbands, in the same way be considerate as you live with your wives, and treat them with respect as the weaker partner and as heirs with you of the gracious gift of life, so that nothing will hinder your prayers.

Submitting to Authorities.
Romans 13:1 Everyone must submit himself to the governing authorities, for there is no authority except that which God has established. The authorities that exist have been established by God. 2 Consequently, he who rebels against the authority is rebelling against what God has instituted, and those who do so will bring judgement on themselves. 3 For rulers hold no terror for those who do right, but for those who do wrong. Do you want to be free from fear of the one in authority? Then do what is right and he will commend you. 4 For he is God’s servant to do you good. But if you do wrong, be afraid, for he does not bear the sword for nothing. He is God’s servant, an agent of wrath to bring punishment on the wrongdoer. 5 Therefore, it is necessary to submit to the authorities, not only because of possible punishment but also because of conscience. 6 This is also why you pay taxes, for the authorities are God’s servants, who give their full time to governing. 7 Give everyone what you owe him: If you owe taxes, pay taxes; if revenue, then revenue; if respect, then respect; if honour, then honour.

Being liberal to others.
Acts 20:35 In everything I did, I showed you that by this kind of hard work we must help the weak, remembering the words the Lord Jesus himself said: `It is more blessed to give than to receive.'”

Romans 12:13 Share with God’s people who are in need. Practice hospitality.

Being contented.
Philippians 4:11 I am not saying this because I am in need, for I have learned to be content whatever the circumstances.

Hebrews 13:5 Keep your lives free from the love of money and be content with what you have, because God has said, “Never will I leave you; never will I forsake you.”

Blessedness of maintaining.
Psalms 1:1 Blessed is the man who does not walk in the counsel of the wicked or stand in the way of sinners or sit in the seat of mockers. 2 But his delight is in the law of the LORD, and on his law he meditates day and night. 3 He is like a tree planted by streams of water, which yields its fruit in season and whose leaf does not wither. Whatever he does prospers.

Psalms 19:9 The fear of the LORD is pure, enduring forever. The ordinances of the LORD are sure and altogether righteous. 10 They are more precious than gold, than much pure gold; they are sweeter than honey, than honey from the comb. 11 By them is your servant warned; in keeping them there is great reward.

Psalms 50:23 He who sacrifices thank offerings honours me, and he prepares the way so that I may show him the salvation of God.”

Matthew 5:
3 “Blessed are the poor in spirit, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.
4 Blessed are those who mourn, for they will be comforted.
5 Blessed are the meek, for they will inherit the earth.
6 Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness, for they will be filled.
7 Blessed are the merciful, for they will be shown mercy.
8 Blessed are the pure in heart, for they will see God.
9 Blessed are the peacemakers, for they will be called sons of God.
10 Blessed are those who are persecuted because of righteousness, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.
11 “Blessed are you when people insult you, persecute you and falsely say all kinds of evil against you because of me.
12 Rejoice and be glad, because great is your reward in heaven, for in the same way they persecuted the prophets who were before you.

John 15:10 If you obey my commands, you will remain in my love, just as I have obeyed my Father’s commands and remain in his love.

The Christian Teacher must have faith in the Lord Jesus and a level of obedience to His teachings. Any candidate for any Christian Ministry but be tested and only chosen if the Holy Spirit testifies to their suitability. SADLY, this testing is corrupted by many Christian Leaders, thus appointing Christless Christians without the Power of the Holy Spirit. Unless this is corrected, they will be chastised and rebuked by the Lord Jesus who is yoked to His Spiritual Ministers given to lead in His Spiritual Body.

Ephesians 4:11 So Christ himself gave the apostles, the prophets, the evangelists, the pastors and teachers, 12 to equip his people for works of service, so that the body of Christ may be built up 13 until we all reach unity in the faith and in the knowledge of the Son of God and become mature, attaining to the whole measure of the fullness of Christ.

14 Then we will no longer be infants, tossed back and forth by the waves, and blown here and there by every wind of teaching and by the cunning and craftiness of people in their deceitful scheming. 15 Instead, speaking the truth in love, we will grow to become in every respect the mature body of him who is the head, that is, Christ. 16 From him the whole body, joined and held together by every supporting ligament, grows and builds itself up in love, as each part does its work.

The people in Churchianity, Christianity with Church replacing Christ will do everything in their power, individually and collectively, to fight against the Holy Spirit who empowers these Jesus appointed Ministers.

NO COMPROMISE WILL BE TOLERATED BY GOD AND JESUS WILL SHOW THIS WHEN HE RETURNS TO THIS WORLD WITH POWER AND AUTHORITY. THESE SPIRITUAL MINISTERS WILL SACRIFICE THEIR LIVES TO HELP YOU BELIEVE AND OBEY. ALLOW THEM TO DO THEIR WORK IN YOUR CHRISTIAN ORGANISATIONS!

That which is called the Christian Church shunned me! Yet here I am today, witnessing for Jesus. How can that be? If you look at my Testimony, it will tell you a lot that may give you a clue.

Why it is hard to save those who hate Jesus

A. W. Tozer said in Preparing for Jesus’ Return:

“Christianity is not what somebody said in Rome or Constantinople or London or New York. Christianity is what the Holy Spirit said it is in His book.”

A message sent to me from the late Rev. Ken Newton and his wife Jean, of Wholeness Ministries International, in October 5th 1992.

May God continue to bless you in all He has called you to do. God has been clearly speaking of the need to mobilise the Churches for Spiritual Warfare. We look forward to your reply.

Every blessing in Christ Jesus.

That message from Ken & Jean was sent to me 26 years ago! Yet today, 5th August 2018, there are still many thousands of people here in Birmingham, England, who need help from the Powerful Lord Jesus and the Churches are impotent to help. To help me and to help them whom God wants to help! No mater what the Holy Spirit of God does, hearts remain in darkness. Especially the hearts of Church Leaders.

The narrow and wide gates. Jesus talks about the two roads offered to you in life and how you have to choose one or the other. Matthew 7:13 ‘Enter through the narrow gate. For wide is the gate and broad is the road that leads to destruction, and many enter through it. 14 But small is the gate and narrow the road that leads to life, and only a few find it.’

So why does the Lord Jesus clearly state that only a few find the small gate at the end of narrow road? Clearly he tells us that they do not want to leave the broad road that leads to the wide gate that leads to destruction! They are rushing into Hell, when God offers them a way into Heaven. Not only that, they shun the Lovers of Christ who witness through their lives for Him.

Who are those Saved from Hell?
They are those Saints who walk alone in the company of God and each other, John 14:23. Unlike those described in John 14:24, they have their love and obedience for Jesus rewarded by God.

Jesus, speaking to some Jewish Leaders (Seven woes on the teachers of the law and the Pharisees)
Matthew 23:13 ‘Woe to you, teachers of the law and Pharisees, you hypocrites! You shut the door of the kingdom of heaven in people’s faces. You yourselves do not enter, nor will you let those enter who are trying to.’

How can those on the Narrow Road, John 14:23, help those on the Broad Road, John 14:24, when the church leaders on the Broad Road block them?


Charles Finney explained it far better than I ever could, for he was a skilled Lawyer who could put forward an argument. I could have a go, but why when he has already done so.

“Watch your life and doctrine closely. Persevere in them, because if you do, you will save both yourself and your hearers.” 1 Timothy 4:16

I beg leave in this article to suggest to my younger brethren in the ministry some thoughts on the philosophy of so preaching the Gospel as to secure the salvation of souls. They are the result of much study, much prayer for Divine teaching, and a practical experience of many years.

I understand the admonition at the head of this article to relate to the matter, order, and manner of preaching.

The problem is, how shall we win souls wholly to Christ? Certainly we must win them away from themselves.

1. They are free moral agents, of course–rational, accountable.

2. They are in rebellion against God, wholly alienated, intensely prejudiced, and committed against him.

3. They are committed to self-gratification as the end of their being.

4. This committed state is moral depravity, the fountain of sin within them, from which flow by a natural law all their sinful ways. This committed voluntary state is their “wicked heart.” This it is that needs a radical change.

5. God is infinitely benevolent, and unconverted sinners are supremely selfish; so that they are radically opposed to God. Their committal to the gratification of their appetites and propensities is known in Bible language as the “carnal mind”, or, as in the margin, “the minding of the flesh,” which is enmity against God.

6. This enmity is voluntary, and must be overcome, if at all, by the Word of God, made effectual by the teaching of the Holy Spirit.

7. The Gospel is adapted to this end, and when wisely presented we may confidently expect the effectual co-operation of the Holy Spirit. This is implied in our commission, “Go and disciple all nations, and lo! I am with you always, even to the end of the world.”

8. If we are unwise, illogical, unphilosophical, and out of all natural order, in presenting the Gospel, we have no warrant for expecting Divine co-operation.

9. In winning souls, as in everything else, God works through and in accordance with natural laws. Hence, if we would win souls, we must wisely adapt means to this end. We must present those truths and in that order adapted to the natural laws of mind, of thought and mental action. A false mental philosophy will greatly mislead us, and we shall often be found ignorantly working against the agency of the Holy Spirit.

10. Sinners must be convicted of their enmity. They do not know God, and consequently are often ignorant of the opposition of their hearts to Him. “By the law is the knowledge of sin,” because by the law the sinner gets his first true idea of God. By the law he first learns that God is perfectly benevolent, and infinitely opposed to all selfishness. This law, then, should be arrayed in all its majesty against the selfishness and enmity of the sinner.

11. This law carries irresistible conviction of its righteousness, and no moral agent can doubt it.

12. All men know that they have sinned, but all are not convicted of the guilt and ill desert of sin. The many are careless and do not feel the burden of sin, the horrors and terrors of remorse, and have not a sense of condemnation and of being lost.

13. But without this they cannot understand or appreciate the Gospel method of salvation. One cannot intelligently and heartily ask or accept a pardon until he sees and feels the fact and justice of his condemnation.

14. It is absurd to suppose that a careless, unconvicted sinner can intelligently and thankfully accept the Gospel offer of pardon until he accepts the righteousness of God in his condemnation. Conversion to Christ is an intelligent change. Hence the conviction of ill desert must precede the acceptance of mercy; for without this conviction the soul does not understand its need of mercy. Of course, the offer is rejected. The Gospel is no glad tidings to the careless, unconvicted sinner.

15. The spirituality of the law should be unsparingly applied to the conscience until the sinner’s self-righteousness is annihilated, and he stands speechless and self-condemned before a holy God.

16. In some men this conviction is already ripe, and the preacher may at once present Christ, with the hope of his being accepted; but at ordinary times such cases are exceptional. The great mass of sinners are careless, unconvicted, and to assume their conviction and preparedness to receive Christ, and, hence, to urge sinners immediately to accept him, is to begin at the wrong end of our work–to render our teaching unintelligible. And such a course will be found to have been a mistaken one, whatever present appearances and professions may indicate. The sinner may obtain a hope under such teaching; but, unless the Holy Spirit supplies something which the preacher has failed to do, it will be found to be a false one. All the essential links of truth must be supplied.

17. When the law has done its work, annihilated self-righteousness, and shut the sinner up to the acceptance of mercy, he should be made to understand the delicacy and danger of dispensing with the execution of the penalty when the precept of law has been violated.

18. Right here the sinner should be made to understand that from the benevolence of God he cannot justly infer that God can consistently forgive him. For unless public justice can be satisfied the law of universal benevolence forbids the forgiveness of sin. If public justice is not regarded in the exercise of mercy, the good of the public is sacrificed to that of the individual. God will never do this.

19. This teaching will shut the sinner up to look for some offering to public justice.

20. Now give him the atonement as a revealed fact, and shut him up to Christ as his own sin offering. Press the revealed fact that God has accepted the death of Christ as a substitute for the sinner’s death, and that this is to be received upon the testimony of God.

21. Being already crushed into contrition by the convicting power of the law, the revelation of the love of God manifested in the death of Christ, will naturally beget great self-loathing, and that godly sorrow that needeth not to be repented of. Under this showing the sinner can never forgive himself. God is holy and glorious; and he a sinner, saved by sovereign grace. This teaching may be more or less formal as the souls you address are more or less thoughtful, intelligent, and careful to understand.

22. It was not by accident that the dispensation of law preceded the dispensation of grace; but it is in the natural order of things, in accordance with established mental laws, and evermore the law must prepare the way for the Gospel. To overlook this in instructing souls is almost certain to result in false hope, the introduction of a false standard of Christian experience, and to fill the church with spurious converts. Time will make this plain.

23. The truth should be preached to the persons present, and so personally applied as to compel everyone to feel that you mean him or her. As has been often said of a certain preacher: “He does not preach, but explains what other people preach, and seems to be talking directly to me.”

24. This course will rivet attention, and cause your hearers to lose sight of the length of your sermon. They will tire if they feel no personal interest in what you say. To secure their individual interest in what you are saying is an indispensable condition of their being converted. And, while their individual interest is thus awakened, and held fast to your subject, they will seldom complain of the length of your sermon. In nearly all cases, if the people complain of the length of our sermons, it is because we fail to interest them personally in what we say.

25. If we fail to interest them personally, it is either because we do not address them personally, or because we lack unction and earnestness, or because we lack clearness and force, or certainly because we lack something that we ought to possess. To make them feel that we and that God means them is indispensable.

26. Do not think that earnest piety alone can make you successful in winning souls. This is only one condition of success. There must be common sense, there must be spiritual wisdom in adapting means to the end. Matter and manner and order and time and place all need to be wisely adjusted to the end we have in view.

27. God may sometimes convert souls by men who are not spiritually minded, when they possess that natural sagacity which enables them to adapt means to that end; but the Bible warrants us in affirming that these are exceptional cases. Without this sagacity and adaptation of means to this end a spiritual mind will fail to win souls to Christ.

28. Souls need instruction in accordance with the measure of their intelligence. A few simple truths, when wisely applied and illuminated by the Holy Ghost, will convert children to Christ. I say wisely applied, for they too are sinners, and need the application of the law, as a schoolmaster, to bring them to Christ, that they may be justified by faith. It will sooner or later appear that supposed conversions to Christ are spurious where the preparatory law work has been omitted, and Christ has not been embraced as a Saviour from sin and condemnation.

29. Sinners of education and culture, who are, after all, unconvicted and skeptical in their hearts, need a vastly more extended and thorough application of truth. Professional men need the Gospel net to be thrown quite around them, with no break through which they can escape; and, when thus dealt with, they are all the more sure to be converted in proportion to their real intelligence. I have found that a course of lectures addressed to lawyers, and adapted to their habits of thought and reasoning, is most sure to convert them.

30. To be successful in winning souls, we need to be observing–to study individual character, to press the facts of experience, observation, and revelation upon the consciences of all classes.

31. Be sure to explain the terms you use. Before I was converted, I failed to hear the terms repentance, faith, regeneration, and conversion intelligibly explained. Repentance was described as a feeling. Faith was represented as an intellectual act or state, and not as a voluntary act of trust. Regeneration was represented as some physical change in the nature, produced by the direct power of the Holy Ghost, instead of a voluntary change of the ultimate preference of the soul, produced by the spiritual illumination of the Holy Ghost. Even conversion was represented as being the work of the Holy Ghost in such a sense as to cover up the fact that it is the sinner’s own act, under the persuasions of the Holy Ghost.

32. Urge the fact that repentance involves the voluntary and actual renunciation of all sin; that it is a radical change of mind toward God.

33. Also the fact that saving faith is heart trust in Christ; that it works by love, it purifies the heart, and overcomes the world; that no faith is saving that has not these attributes.

34. The sinner is required to put forth certain mental acts. What these are he needs to understand. Error in mental philosophy but embarrasses, and may fatally deceive the inquiring soul. Sinners are often put upon a wrong track. They are put upon a strain to feel instead of putting forth the required acts of will. Before my conversion I never received from man any intelligible idea of the mental acts that God required of me.

35. The deceitfulness of sin renders the inquiring soul exceedingly exposed to delusion; therefore it behooves teachers to beat about every bush, and to search out every nook and corner where a soul can find a false refuge. Be so thorough and discriminating as to render it as nearly impossible as the nature of the case will admit that the inquirer should entertain a false hope.

36. Do not fear to be thorough. Do not through false pity put on a plaster where the probe is needed. Do not fear that you shall discourage the convicted sinner, and turn him back, by searching him out to the bottom. If the Holy Spirit is dealing with him, the more you search and probe the more impossible it will be for the soul to turn back or rest in sin.

37. If you would save the soul, do not spare a right hand, or right eye, or any darling idol; but see to it that every form of sin is given up. Insist upon full confession of wrong, to all that have a right to confession. Insist upon full restitution, so far as is possible, to all injured parties. Do not fall short of the express teachings of Christ on this subject. Whoever the sinner may be, let him distinctly understand that unless he forsakes all that he has he cannot be the disciple of Christ. Insist upon entire and universal consecration of all the powers of body and mind, and of all the property, possessions, character, and influence to God. Insist upon the total abandonment to God of all ownership of self, or anything else, as a condition of being accepted.

38. Understand yourself, and, if possible, make the sinner understand that nothing short of this is involved in true faith or true repentance, and that true consecration involves them all.

39. Keep constantly before the sinner’s mind that it is the personal Christ with whom he is dealing, that God in Christ is seeking his reconciliation to himself, and that the condition of his reconciliation is that he gives up his will and his whole being to God–that he leave not a hoof behind.

40. Assure him that “God has given to him eternal life, and this life is in his son”; that “Christ is made unto him wisdom, righteousness, sanctification, and redemption”; and that from first to last he is to find his whole salvation in Christ.

41. When satisfied that the soul intelligently receives all this doctrine, and the Christ herein revealed, then remember that he must persevere unto the end, as the further condition of his salvation. Here you have before you the great work of preventing the soul from backsliding, of securing its permanent sanctification and sealing for eternal glory.

42. Does not the very common backsliding in heart of converts indicate some grave defect in the teachings of the pulpit on this subject?

What does it mean that so many hopeful converts, within a few months of their apparent conversion, lose their first love, lose all their fervency in religion, neglect their duty, and live on in name Christians, but in spirit and life worldlings?

43. A truly successful preacher must not only win souls to Christ, but must keep them won. He must not only secure their conversion, but their permanent sanctification.

44. Nothing in the Bible is more expressly promised in this life than permanent sanctification. 1 Thes., v, 23, 24: “The very God of peace sanctify you wholly; and I pray God your whole spirit, soul, and body be preserved blameless unto the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ. Faithful is he that calleth you, who also will do it.” This is unquestionably a prayer of the apostle for permanent sanctification in this life, with an express promise that he who has called us will do it.

45. We learn from the Scriptures that “after we believe” we are or may be sealed with the Holy Spirit of promise, and that this sealing is the earnest of our salvation. Eph., i, 13,14: “In whom ye also trusted after that ye heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation; in whom also after that ye believed, ye were sealed with the Holy Spirit of promise, which is the earnest of our inheritance until the redemption of the purchased possession, unto the praise of his glory.” His sealing this earnest of our inheritance is that which renders our salvation sure. Hence, in Eph., iv, 30, the apostle says: “Grieve not the Holy Spirit of God, whereby ye are sealed unto the day of redemption.” And in II Cor., 1, 21st and 22nd verses, the apostle says: “Now he which establisheth us with you in Christ, and hath anointed us, is God, who hath also sealed us and given the earnest of the Spirit in our hearts.” Thus we are established in Christ and anointed by the Spirit, and also sealed by the earnest of the Spirit in our hearts. And this, remember, is a blessing that we receive after that we believe, as Paul has informed us in his Epistle to the Ephesians, above quoted. Now, it is of the last importance that converts should be taught not to rest short of this permanent sanctification, this sealing, this being established in Christ by the special anointing of the Holy Ghost.

46. Now, brethren, unless we know what this means by our own experience, and lead converts to this experience, we fail most lamentably and essentially in our teaching. We leave out the very cream and fullness of the Gospel.

47. It should be understood that while this experience is rare amongst ministers it will be discredited by the churches, and it will be next to impossible for an isolated preacher of this doctrine to overcome the unbelief of his church. They will feel doubtful about it, because so few preach it or believe in it; and will account for their pastor’s insisting upon it by saying that his experience is owing to his peculiar temperament, and thus they will fail to receive this anointing because of their unbelief. Under such circumstances it is all the more necessary to insist much upon the importance and privilege of permanent sanctification.

48. Sin consists in carnal-mindedness, in “obeying the desires of the flesh and of the mind.” Permanent sanctification consists in entire and permanent consecration to God. It implies the refusal to obey the desire of the flesh or of the mind. The baptism or sealing of the Holy Spirit subdues the power of the desires and strengthens and confirms the will in resisting the impulse of desire, and in abiding permanently in a state of making the whole being an offering to God.

49. If we are silent upon this subject, the natural inference will be that we do not believe in it, and, of course, that we know nothing about it in experience. This will inevitably be a stumbling-block to the church.

50. Since this is undeniably an important doctrine, and plainly taught in the Gospel, and is, indeed, the marrow and fatness of the Gospel, to fail in teaching this is to rob the church of its richest inheritance.

51. The testimony of the church, and to a great extent of the ministry, on the subject has been lamentably defective. This legacy has been withheld from the church, and is it any wonder that she so disgracefully backslides? The testimony of the comparatively few, here and there, that insist upon this doctrine is almost nullified by the counter testimony or culpable silence of the great mass of Christ’s witnesses.

52. My dear brethren, my convictions are so ripe and my feelings so deep upon this subject that I must not conceal from you my fears that lack of personal experience, in many cases, is the reason of this great defect in preaching the Gospel. I do not say this to reproach you; it is not in my heart to do so. It is not wonderful that many of you, at least, have not this experience. Your religious training has been defective. You have been led to take a different view of this subject. Various causes have operated to prejudice you against this blessed doctrine of the glorious Gospel. You have not intellectually believed it; and, of course, have not received Christ in his fullness into your hearts. Perhaps this doctrine to you has been a stumbling-block and a rock of offense; but I pray you let not prejudice prevail, but venture upon Christ by a present acceptance of him as your wisdom, righteousness, sanctification, and redemption, and see if he will not do for you exceeding abundantly, above all that you asked or thought.

53. No man, saint or sinner, should be left by us to rest or be quiet in the indulgence of any sin. No one should be allowed to entertain the hope of Heaven, if we can prevent it, who lives in the indulgence of known sin in any form. Our constant demand and persuasion should be, “Be ye holy, for God is holy.” “Be ye perfect, even as your Father in Heaven is perfect.” Let us remember the manner in which Christ concludes his memorable Sermon on the Mount. After spreading out those awfully searching truths before his hearers, and demanding that they should be perfect, as their Father in Heaven was perfect, he concludes by assuring them that no one could be saved who did not receive and obey his teachings. Instead of attempting to please our people in their sins, we should continually endeavor to hunt and persuade them out of their sins. Brethren, let us do it, as we would not have our skirts defiled with their blood. If we pursue this course, and constantly preach with unction and power, and abide in the fullness of the doctrine of Christ, we may joyfully expect to save ourselves and them that hear us.

John 14:23 Jesus replied, ‘Anyone who loves me will obey my teaching. My Father will love them, and we will come to them and make our home with them. [the Christians who know who Jesus is24 Anyone who does not love me will not obey my teaching. [those involved in Churchianity who don’t know who Jesus isThese words you hear are not my own; they belong to the Father who sent me.’

The narrow and wide gates. Jesus talks about the two roads offered to you in life and how you have to choose one or the other. Matthew 7:13 ‘Enter through the narrow gate. For wide is the gate and broad is the road that leads to destruction, and many enter through it. 14 But small is the gate and narrow the road that leads to life, and only a few find it.

So why does the Lord Jesus clearly state that only a few find the small gate at the end of narrow road? Clearly he tells us that they do not want to leave the broad road that leads to the wide gate that leads to destruction! They are rushing into Hell, when God offers them a way into Heaven. Not only that, they shun the Lovers of Christ who witness through their lives for Him.

Who are those Saved from Hell?
They are those Saints who walk alone in the company of God and each other,  John 14:23. Unlike those described in John 14:24, they have their love and obedience for Jesus rewarded by God.

Martyrdom of Believers
Jesus said, “Then shall they deliver you up to be afflicted, and shall kill you: and ye shall be hated of all nations for my name’s sake” (Matt. 24:9). I need not remind anyone of the persecutions throughout the world, since the day when Hitler rose and turned his hatred against the Jews down to this present hour. The news media tells us what is happening all around the world and how Christians are suffering and even martyred. Persecution is one technique of totalitarianism both in the church and in the state. The closer we get to the return of Jesus, the more persecution will increase and focus on believers around the world.

Moral Decline in the Church
Nobody would question the fact that our city streets are unsafe, and no matter where you go, there is always some threat of violence. The times are getting increasingly wicked, and we now live in the generation of locked doors. When I was a youngster, there was no such thing as locking our doors. Today there is no such thing as an unlocked door.

The iniquity I am referring to here is more than just the world; it has everything to do with the Church. In this generation, we are facing a backslidden Church. I am talking about individuals in the Church, and I want to press two very important questions.

The first question is, How would you describe your passion for the person of Christ? The Scriptures teach that one of the evidences of the last days is this: “And because iniquity shall abound, the love of many shall wax cold” (Matt. 24:12). So, how ardent is your love for the Lord Jesus Christ?

The second question is simply, What has your Christianity cost you? We have become a bunch of well-groomed showpiece Christians behind glass. Our Christianity has cost us nothing. David, that mighty man of God, said, “Neither will I offer burnt offerings unto the LORD my God of that which doth cost me nothing” (2 Sam. 24:24).

Since last week, what has your Christian faith cost you? The man of God says, “Not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as the manner of some is; but exhorting one another: and so much the more, as ye see the day approaching” (Heb. 10:25). Many, I am sad to say, are forsaking the assembly of believers.

We come to church when it is convenient. We serve the Lord at our convenience. The center of our entire life is “convenience.” This was not so with the Early Church fathers or with the martyrs down through the years, or with the great Reformers and revivalists. Their Christianity cost them dearly. We who are benefiting from the high cost they paid do not appreciate the cost and have trampled underfoot the preciousness of their sacrifice.

What has our faith cost us? Are we offering to God a bloodless sacrifice like Cain, who offered to God that which cost him not one ounce of blood or sweat or tears? Evangelical American Christians allow missionaries to do all the suffering today. We let them leave their homes and go into the jungles and pagan cities around the world. We let them stay away years at a stretch and sleep in thatched roof huts in dangerous neighbourhoods.

On the other hand, we who stay behind have big bank accounts, drive expensive cars and somehow believe that thus were the prophets that came before us. What we need to do is fall on our knees and search our hearts; I believe we will be shocked at what we find. As for me, I want my Christianity to cost me something right down to the last gasp. I do not want an easy road or a convenient ministry or something that costs me nothing.

I want to sing along with A. B. Simpson (1843–1919), who wrote a wonderful missionary hymn called “The Regions Beyond”:

To the hardest the places He calls me to go, Not thinking of comfort or ease;
The world may pronounce me a dreamer, a fool, Enough if the Master I please.

Signs abound that the evangelical Church, especially in America, is falling away. Today’s evangelical Church is being inundated with activities galore. Not even the apostle Paul had as many irons in the fire as many Christians do today. I believe we ought to be working right up to the very end; but many of our activities are simply done for activity’s sake. Our activities are not tied in to the Blessed Hope, and they in no way prepare us for the return of Jesus Christ. Our activities are to please ourselves and court the acceptance of the world.

We also need to watch out for the modern moral code. This has infiltrated the Church in this generation as never before. I see a frightening similarity between the world and the Church today along the lines of morality. The average Christian today accepts the world’s standard to live by. Yet, our standard is the Bible, and only the Bible prepares us and enables us to live daily in light of the Blessed Hope.

We must get on our knees before our open Bible and allow the Holy Spirit to break our hearts and create a passion for Christ as we’ve never had before. We must ask for a passion of such a nature that the things of this world will begin to diminish in their attraction for us. A passion for Christ will enable us to rise above our culture and look unto Jesus, the author and finisher of our faith.

Let us be alert to the season in which we are living. It is the season of the Blessed Hope, calling for us to cut our ties with the world and build ourselves on this One who will soon appear. He is our hope—a Blessed Hope enabling us to rise above our times and fix our gaze upon Him.

As Bible-believing Christians, it is imperative that we stay fully alert to the times in which we live. Our enemy is a master deceiver and a con artist of the highest order, diverting our attention from the Blessed Hope with the problems we face every day. Understanding Bible prophecy will create a passion for holy living. To know the Blessed Hope is to live in full expectation of Christ’s imminent return. All signs today point to this being the season of the Blessed Hope. Even so, come, Lord Jesus.

John 14:23 Jesus replied, ‘Anyone who loves me will obey my teaching. SO, WHERE IS JESUS RIGHT NOW? True Christianity is about living a life with Jesus Christ the Lord through the power of the Holy Spirit of God. It’s about living in the truth by being in spiritual union with Christ and others who live in his Spiritual Body. It’s about Moral Law and Righteousness!

The Lost Souls – including those Christless Christians whom make up what is known as Churchianity – Christianity with Church replacing Christ. All these are described by the Lord Jesus in John 14:24. When Jesus returns, as he promises he will, they will all be destroyed. They most certainly, unlike the Christians described by Jesus in John 14:23, do not know where the Lord Jesus is now.

And the reason Christians know where Jesus is now? John 14:23 Jesus replied, ‘Anyone who loves me will obey my teaching. My Father will love them, and we will come to them and make our home with them. The Lord Jesus lives with them!

Since 1977, I have been used by God to show the truth about this wonderful life with Jesus. Firstly in Mountsorrel 1977 to 1985, Secondly in Birmingham 1985 till Now, and also from 1995 till now in the whole world wherever a person can access the Internet. That’s a lot of People in a lot of Places.

What is the purpose of God doing all this?

To give as many Lost Souls, John 14:24, a chance to hear the truth about the Lord Jesus Christ and His Gospel. While at the same time offering my Spiritual and Practical Gifts to mobilise the true Christians for Spiritual Warfare. The war between what the Holy Spirit wants and what the selfish human spirit wants. Sadly, too often the Human Spirit quenches the Holy Spirit to the detriment of billions of both the Lost and Saved Souls.

IT’S BEEN A LONG HARD ROAD, BUT IT’S A ROAD THAT GOD HAS CALLED ME TO TRAVEL ALONG AND HIS MANY BLESSINGS HAVE BEEN CLEARLY SEEN BY MILLIONS OF PEOPLE.

I am always reminded by the Holy Spirit of God:

1 Thessalonians 5 New International Version (NIV)

The Day of the Lord

5 Now, brothers and sisters, about times and dates we do not need to write to you, 2 for you know very well that the day of the Lord will come like a thief in the night. 3 While people are saying, “Peace and safety,” destruction will come on them suddenly, as labour pains on a pregnant woman, and they will not escape.

4 But you, brothers and sisters, are not in darkness so that this day should surprise you like a thief. 5 You are all children of the light and children of the day. We do not belong to the night or to the darkness. 6 So then, let us not be like others, who are asleep, but let us be awake and sober. 7 For those who sleep, sleep at night, and those who get drunk, get drunk at night. 8 But since we belong to the day, let us be sober, putting on faith and love as a breastplate, and the hope of salvation as a helmet. 9 For God did not appoint us to suffer wrath but to receive salvation through our Lord Jesus Christ. 10 He died for us so that, whether we are awake or asleep, we may live together with him. 11 Therefore encourage one another and build each other up, just as in fact you are doing.

Final Instructions

12 Now we ask you, brothers and sisters, to acknowledge those who work hard among you, who care for you in the Lord and who admonish you. 13 Hold them in the highest regard in love because of their work. Live in peace with each other. 14 And we urge you, brothers and sisters, warn those who are idle and disruptive, encourage the disheartened, help the weak, be patient with everyone. 15 Make sure that nobody pays back wrong for wrong, but always strive to do what is good for each other and for everyone else.

16 Rejoice always, 17 pray continually, 18 give thanks in all circumstances; for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus.

19 Do not quench the Spirit. 20 Do not treat prophecies with contempt 21 but test them all; hold on to what is good, 22 reject every kind of evil.

23 May God himself, the God of peace, sanctify you through and through. May your whole spirit, soul and body be kept blameless at the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ. 24 The one who calls you is faithful, and he will do it.

25 Brothers and sisters, pray for us. 26 Greet all God’s people with a holy kiss. 27 I charge you before the Lord to have this letter read to all the brothers and sisters.

28 The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you.

I am also reminded of those special words that came to the Apostle Paul.

The nature of true apostleship

4 This, then, is how you ought to regard us: as servants of Christ and as those entrusted with the mysteries God has revealed. 2 Now it is required that those who have been given a trust must prove faithful. 3 I care very little if I am judged by you or by any human court; indeed, I do not even judge myself. 4 My conscience is clear, but that does not make me innocent. It is the Lord who judges me. 5 Therefore judge nothing before the appointed time; wait until the Lord comes. He will bring to light what is hidden in darkness and will expose the motives of the heart. At that time each will receive their praise from God.

6 Now, brothers and sisters, I have applied these things to myself and Apollos for your benefit, so that you may learn from us the meaning of the saying, ‘Do not go beyond what is written.’ Then you will not be puffed up in being a follower of one of us over against the other. 7 For who makes you different from anyone else? What do you have that you did not receive? And if you did receive it, why do you boast as though you did not?

8 Already you have all you want! Already you have become rich! You have begun to reign – and that without us! How I wish that you really had begun to reign so that we also might reign with you! 9 For it seems to me that God has put us apostles on display at the end of the procession, like those condemned to die in the arena. We have been made a spectacle to the whole universe, to angels as well as to human beings. 10 We are fools for Christ, but you are so wise in Christ! We are weak, but you are strong! You are honoured, we are dishonoured! 11 To this very hour we go hungry and thirsty, we are in rags, we are brutally treated, we are homeless. 12 We work hard with our own hands. When we are cursed, we bless; when we are persecuted, we endure it; 13 when we are slandered, we answer kindly. We have become the scum of the earth, the garbage of the world – right up to this moment.

Paul’s appeal and warning

14 I am writing this not to shame you but to warn you as my dear children. 15 Even if you had ten thousand guardians in Christ, you do not have many fathers, for in Christ Jesus I became your father through the gospel. 16 Therefore I urge you to imitate me. 17 For this reason I have sent to you Timothy, my son whom I love, who is faithful in the Lord. He will remind you of my way of life in Christ Jesus, which agrees with what I teach everywhere in every church.

18 Some of you have become arrogant, as if I were not coming to you. 19 But I will come to you very soon, if the Lord is willing, and then I will find out not only how these arrogant people are talking, but what power they have. 20 For the kingdom of God is not a matter of talk but of power. 21 What do you prefer? Shall I come to you with a rod of discipline, or shall I come in love and with a gentle spirit?

As a Slave of my Lord and Saviour and of all Humankind, I repeat! All that I do is witness for my Lord, that at least some will fall in love with Him who holds both the Keys to Heaven and Hell. I am truly gifted to keep those whom I have been charged to help safe from the Devil and his Followers. Though I will surely have many who will reject my calling, no matter what proof the Holy Spirit gives them. To these, John 14:24, I have to let go in the hope that they may throw themselves down at the feet of Him who is worthy to be called Lord and Saviour. The Spiritual Head of His Body made up of all those He describes in John 14:23. Jesus Christ the Son of God.

My Pentecost and my Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ

16th May 2018, was my 74th Birthday. When I was 4 the Lord Jesus showed himself to me in a Salvation Army Hall, long closed, at Red Lion Road, Surbiton, Surrey, England.

True Christianity is about more than having Bible Knowledge, it’s about a life lived in Christ Jesus the Lord through the power of the Holy Spirit of God. It’s about having our own personal “Pentecost” experience.

2 Corinthians 2:14-17 New International Version – UK (NIVUK)

14 But thanks be to God, who always leads us as captives in Christ’s triumphal procession and uses us to spread the aroma of the knowledge of him everywhere. 15 For we are to God the pleasing aroma of Christ among those who are being saved [John 14:23] and those who are perishing [John 14:24]. 16 To the one we are an aroma that brings death; to the other, an aroma that brings life. And who is equal to such a task? 17 Unlike so many, we do not peddle the word of God for profit. On the contrary, in Christ we speak before God with sincerity, as those sent from God.

I am also a Witness for my Lord Jesus, as described by the Apostle Paul, purely because He and His Father have made their home with me, John 14:23 – God the Holy Spirit is the undeniable proof of that.

A real life not one fabricated by those Christless Christians heading for destruction! Many of whom are well meaning but still fighting against the Holy Spirit of God who is striving to lead them to Jesus Christ and his Gospel of Salvation.

Sadly, there are those who claim to be as the Apostle Paul describes in 2 Corinthians 2:14-17, but are not, because they are as the Lord Jesus describes in John 14:24. They do not have the Holy Spirit of God.

Today is the day many Christian Churches, true Disciples or false, celebrate the Festival of Pentecost. The Christian festival celebrating the descent of the Holy Spirit on the disciples of Jesus after his Ascension, held on the seventh Sunday after Easter.

This is what A W Tozer said about Pentecost:

When Pentecost Came

As we read the New Testament, we find a very simple, very plain, and very forceful truth: the Holy Spirit makes a difference! Consider the early disciples; Jesus Himself had taught them for more than three years—the greatest Bible school! But still He had to caution them and encourage them not to depend on their own wisdom and strength: “Tarry ye . . . until ye be endued with power from on high” (Luke 24:49b). He promised that they would receive the Person of the Holy Spirit to carry out His plan of world evangelization. After Pentecost, the Spirit brought them a new and vivid consciousness of the actual presence of God. He gave them the gifts of divine joy and peace. He gave them great and continuing delight in prayer and communion with God! Finally, we recall that before Pentecost, the disciples could only ask questions. After Pentecost, throughout the record in the book of Acts, they stood in the authority of the Spirit and answered all of the questions of the people concerning God’s plan of salvation through the crucified and risen Christ!

This is what Charles Finney said about Pentecost from his book Power from on High:

How the practice of Sinning stops you having your own personal Pentecost

Last and greatest, by unbelief. He prays for this Enduement without expecting to receive it. “He that believeth not God, hath made Him a liar.” This, then, is the greatest sin of all. What an insult, what a blasphemy, to accuse God of lying!

I was obliged to conclude that these and other forms of indulged sin explained why so little is received, while so much is asked. I said I had not time to present the other side. Some of the brethren afterward inquired, “What is the other side?” The other side presents the certainty that we shall receive the promised Enduement of power from on high, and be successful in winning souls, if we ask, and fulfil the plainly revealed conditions of prevailing prayer. Observe, what I said upon the Lord’s Day was upon the same subject, and in addition to what I had previously said. The misapprehension alluded to was this: If we first get rid of all these forms of sin, which prevent our receiving this Enduement, have we not already obtained the blessing? What more do we need?

Answer. There is a great difference between the peace and the power of the Holy Spirit in the soul. The disciples were Christians before the Day of Pentecost, and, as such, had a measure of the Holy Spirit. They must have had the peace of sins forgiven, and of a justified state, but yet they had not the Enduement of power necessary to the accomplishment of the work assigned them. They had the peace which Christ had given them, but not the power which He had promised. This may be true of all Christians, and right here is, I think, the great mistake of the Church, and of the ministry. They rest in conversion, and do not seek until they obtain this Enduement of power from on high. Hence so many professors have no power with either God or man. They prevail with neither. They cling to a hope in Christ, and even enter the ministry, overlooking the admonition to wait until they are endued with power from on high. But let anyone bring all the tithes and offerings into God’s treasury, let him lay all upon the altar, and prove God herewith, and he shall find that God “will open the windows of heaven, and pour him out a blessing that there shall not be room enough to receive it.”

The World is full of people giving teaching about Pentecost, you just have to look for it. However, my aim today is to show you how my “Pentecost” happened. How did Mike Hill come to be Baptised by the Holy Spirit to do what God wants Mike Hill to do.

I am forced to add, that sadly, in my 74 years, I have not had the friendship of many whom profess to be Christian – less than a handful and none today. The reasons are many. But I am not here to point you to them, I am here to point to the Lord Jesus who has brought me out of the Curse of John 14:24 ‘Anyone who does not love me will not obey my teaching.’ and into the Blessing of John 14:23 Jesus replied, ‘Anyone who loves me will obey my teaching. My Father will love them, and we will come to them and make our home with them.’ He made it clear that it was his Father who said this through Him, Jesus, ‘These words you hear are not my own; they belong to the Father who sent me.’

So what does John 8:36 ‘So if the Son [Jesus] sets you free, you will be free indeed.’ mean?

70 years of truly utter amazement Christian Experience that has been witnessed by many, both friend and foe.

My prayer is that you may allow the Holy Spirit to lead you to the Spiritual help you may need. I will never turn anyone away who is being led by God to obtain my help for I am a Servant of the Lord and of Humankind. I have been commanded to give the Lord Jesus complete ownership of Me. To give Him first claim on my time.

The promises of ‘Jesus’ in whom there is no sin and who never lies but can be totally trusted.

Luke 15:10 In the same way, I tell you, there is rejoicing in the presence of the angels of God over one sinner who repents.’

John 6:37 All those the Father gives me will come to me, and whoever comes to me I will never drive away.
