A Promise from Jesus to Christians who have stopped loving Him

16th February 2018 mikehill4jesus “A Promise from Jesus to Christians who have stopped loving Him

Linked to an mp3 audio podcast (37:16)

Promises that Encourage Us to Love Jesus and to Obey Jesus.

A promise given from God the Father through His Son, the Lord Jesus Christ.
John 14:23 Jesus replied, ‘Anyone who loves me will obey my teaching. My Father will love them, and we will come to them and make our home with them. 24 Anyone who does not love me will not obey my teaching. These words you hear are not my own; they belong to the Father who sent me.’

Those People described in John 14:24 “Anyone who does not love me will not obey my teaching.” do not believe God’s Promises!

Hybrid Christians are those who have been saved through the Gospel of Jesus Christ, but desire to carry on living in sin believing that they will be pardoned on the day of their judgement. They believe that God’s Grace will increase along with the increase of their sinning. Hence you find that some of the worst sinners call themselves Christian. How wrong they are!

Part of my ministry is to warn them of the fact before God destroys them.

Promises
That Encourage Us to Love Jesus and to Obey Jesus.
Promises to those who do and those who don’t

Revelation 2:1-7
To the church in Ephesus

2 ‘To the angel[Or messenger] of the church in Ephesus write:

These are the words of him who holds the seven stars in his right hand and walks among the seven golden lampstands. 2 I know your deeds, your hard work and your perseverance. I know that you cannot tolerate wicked people, that you have tested those who claim to be apostles but are not, and have found them false. 3 You have persevered and have endured hardships for my name, and have not grown weary.

4 Yet I hold this against you: you have forsaken the love you had at first. 5 Consider how far you have fallen! Repent and do the things you did at first. If you do not repent, I will come to you and remove your lampstand from its place. 6 But you have this in your favour: you hate the practices of the Nicolaitans, which I also hate.

7 Whoever has ears, let them hear what the Spirit says to the churches. To the one who is victorious, I will give the right to eat from the tree of life, which is in the paradise of God.

Here we have the Lord Jesus sending a warning that includes two promises.

Notice that it is being given to His Disciples, not to Lost Souls in need of salvation. See His description of their Christian Life in verses 2-3.

YET

In verses 4-6 He personally condemns them. What is at the heart of this criticism?
4 Yet I hold this against you: you have forsaken the love you had at first.”

They had stopped loving Him!
John 14:23 Jesus replied, ‘Anyone who loves me will obey my teaching. My Father will love them, and we will come to them and make our home with them.

and had become?
24 Anyone who does not love me will not obey my teaching.

All their Christian practice was now worthless!
2 I know your deeds, your hard work and your perseverance. I know that you cannot tolerate wicked people, that you have tested those who claim to be apostles but are not, and have found them false. 3 You have persevered and have endured hardships for my name, and have not grown weary.

They were in danger of having Him and His Father leave them – having the Holy Spirit deserting them.

But He gives them hope with a promise.
7 Whoever has ears, let them hear what the Spirit says to the churches. To the one who is victorious, I will give the right to eat from the tree of life, which is in the paradise of God.

A promise give by a God who is perfectly loving, good-willing, and benevolent. A God who desires their salvation, a salvation that these Christians he is warning are carelessly trampling on.

CAN YOU NOT SEE THAT IN CHRISTIANITY TODAY?

Ignorance cannot be the problem for their evildoing!

They have the Holy Spirit to teach and guide them; the Holy Bible to show them what they should be doing; the Spiritual Ministers within the Body of Christ to serve them and keep them right in both their Doctrine and their Life.
Ephesians 4:11-16

11 So Christ himself gave the apostles, the prophets, the evangelists, the pastors and teachers, 12 to equip his people for works of service, so that the body of Christ may be built up 13 until we all reach unity in the faith and in the knowledge of the Son of God and become mature, attaining to the whole measure of the fullness of Christ.

14 Then we will no longer be infants, tossed back and forth by the waves, and blown here and there by every wind of teaching and by the cunning and craftiness of people in their deceitful scheming. 15 Instead, speaking the truth in love, we will grow to become in every respect the mature body of him who is the head, that is, Christ. 16 From him the whole body, joined and held together by every supporting ligament, grows and builds itself up in love, as each part does its work.

No! Their problem is that they stopped loving their Lord and Saviour thus causing God’s anger towards them.

Ask those of us who have been given to them in order to keep them in Christ and in His Spiritual Body. Are we received or rejected by them?

Is this command given by the Lord being kept by them?
John 13:34-35
34 ‘A new command I give you: love one another. As I have loved you, so you must love one another. 35 By this everyone will know that you are my disciples, if you love one another.’

No! Of course, not everybody claiming to be a Christian, is a Christian! They have never loved the Lord Jesus and experienced John 14:23. This Blog and Podcast are not for them. Why? Because they are not able to understand what I am communicating!

2 Corinthians 4:4 The god of this age has blinded the minds of unbelievers, so that they cannot see the light of the gospel that displays the glory of Christ, who is the image of God.

Many, who profess to be Christian, do not understand the Gospel. Therefore they can’t teach it to others. Beware whom you choose to teach you!

THOSE WHO DON’T BELIEVE GOD’S PROMISES ARE IN GREAT DANGER OF BEING DECEIVED BY THE DEVIL AND DESTROYED BY GOD

Your Choice
In the Holy Bible, the Lord Jesus Christ speaks of two gates that everyone has to make a decision over which one to go through. One gate is Narrow and the other is Wide. Each of these gates leads onto a road that represents your life here on earth and likewise they are the same as their entrance gate.
Matthew 7:13 “Enter through the narrow gate. For wide is the gate and broad is the road that leads to destruction, and many enter through it. 14 But small is the gate and narrow the road that leads to life, and only a few find it.

No Neutrality
Do you want to go to heaven when you die? Then quite clearly, God has offered you his only Son in order that you can make a thoughtful choice in this matter. He does not offer you a neutral path. You will have to make a choice, if not the narrow then the wide. You will have to bear fruit in your life, if not good, then bad.

Matthew 12:30 “He who is not with me is against me, and he who does not gather with me scatters.

Mark 9:40 for whoever is not against us is for us.

Luke 11:23 “He who is not with me is against me, and he who does not gather with me, scatters.

Luke 16:13 “No servant can serve two masters. Either he will hate the one and love the other, or he will be devoted to the one and despise the other. You cannot serve both God and Money.”

Luke 9:62 Jesus replied, “No one who puts his hand to the plough and looks back is fit for service in the kingdom of God.”

Matthew 4:10 Jesus said to him, “Away from me, Satan! For it is written: ‘Worship the Lord your God, and serve him only.'”

John 12:26 Whoever serves me must follow me; and where I am, my servant also will be. My Father will honour the one who serves me.

Mark 16:20 Then the disciples went out and preached everywhere, and the Lord worked with them and confirmed his word by the signs that accompanied it.

Matthew 7:21 “Not everyone who says to me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ will enter the kingdom of heaven, but only he who does the will of my Father who is in heaven. 22 Many will say to me on that day, ‘Lord, Lord, did we not prophesy in your name, and in your name drive out demons and perform many miracles?’ 23 Then I will tell them plainly, ‘I never knew you. Away from me, you evildoers!’

Psalm 111:10 The fear of the LORD is the beginning of wisdom; all who follow his precepts have good understanding. To him belongs eternal praise.

Life or Death
If you choose to enter through the narrow gate, you will find real and abundant life. Your life will have that inextinguishable and indestructible quality that is self-existent in God and shared with those human beings he created. Us! For we are not animals. It is God’s gift to man animating him both physically and spiritually and making him an eternal being; “the absolute fullness of life…which belongs to God.”

Promises
That Encourage Us to Love Jesus and to Obey Jesus.
New Testament Warnings

2 Timothy 2:12
if we endure,
we will also reign with him.
If we disown him,
he will also disown us

2 Timothy 3:12 In fact, everyone who wants to live a godly life in Christ Jesus will be persecuted,

Hebrews 10:26 If we deliberately keep on sinning after we have received the knowledge of the truth, no sacrifice for sins is left,

James 2:10 For whoever keeps the whole law and yet stumbles at just one point is guilty of breaking all of it.

James 4:2 You desire but do not have, so you kill. You covet but you cannot get what you want, so you quarrel and fight. You do not have because you do not ask God.

James 4:3 When you ask, you do not receive, because you ask with wrong motives, that you may spend what you get on your pleasures.

2 Peter 1:5-9 For this very reason, make every effort to add to your faith goodness; and to goodness, knowledge; 6 and to knowledge, self-control; and to self-control, perseverance; and to perseverance, godliness; 7 and to godliness, mutual affection; and to mutual affection, love. 8 For if you possess these qualities in increasing measure, they will keep you from being ineffective and unproductive in your knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ. 9 But whoever does not have them is short-sighted and blind, forgetting that they have been cleansed from their past sins.

2 Peter 2:20 If they have escaped the corruption of the world by knowing our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ and are again entangled in it and are overcome, they are worse off at the end than they were at the beginning.

1 John 1:8 If we claim to be without sin, we deceive ourselves and the truth is not in us.

1 John 1:10 If we claim we have not sinned, we make him out to be a liar and his word is not in us.

1 John 2:11 But anyone who hates a brother or sister is in the darkness and walks around in the darkness. They do not know where they are going, because the darkness has blinded them.

1 John 2:15 On not loving the world 15 Do not love the world or anything in the world. If anyone loves the world, love for the Father is not in them.

1 John 2:22 Who is the liar? It is whoever denies that Jesus is the Christ. Such a person is the antichrist – denying the Father and the Son.

2 John 9 Anyone who runs ahead and does not continue in the teaching of Christ does not have God; whoever continues in the teaching has both the Father and the Son.

Revelation 13:8 All inhabitants of the earth will worship the beast – all whose names have not been written in the Lamb’s book of life, the Lamb who was slain from the creation of the world.

Revelation 14:9-11 A third angel followed them and said in a loud voice: ‘If anyone worships the beast and its image and receives its mark on their forehead or on their hand, 10 they, too, will drink the wine of God’s fury, which has been poured full strength into the cup of his wrath. They will be tormented with burning sulphur in the presence of the holy angels and of the Lamb. 11 And the smoke of their torment will rise for ever and ever. There will be no rest day or night for those who worship the beast and its image, or for anyone who receives the mark of its name.’

Revelation 20:15 Anyone whose name was not found written in the book of life was thrown into the lake of fire.

Revelation 21:8 But the cowardly, the unbelieving, the vile, the murderers, the sexually immoral, those who practise magic arts, the idolaters and all liars – they will be consigned to the fiery lake of burning sulphur. This is the second death.’ All of God’s promises are given for a purpose – to free you from your sin.

Those people described by Jesus in John 14:24Anyone who does not love me [that is Jesus] will not obey my [His] teaching.”  are in great personal danger. For they are still living in sin while claiming to be Christian.

THOSE WHO DON’T BELIEVE GOD’S PROMISES ARE IN GREAT DANGER OF BEING DECEIVED BY THE DEVIL

Promises

Unconditional New Testament Promises

Those People described in John 14:23 ‘Anyone who loves me [Jesus] will obey my [His] teaching. My Father will love them, and we will come to them and make our home with them.’ know these promises can be trusted.

Matthew 11:30 ‘For my yoke is easy and my burden is light.’

Matthew 19:26 Jesus looked at them and said, ‘With man this is impossible, but with God all things are possible.’

Matthew 28:16-20 The great commission

16 Then the eleven disciples went to Galilee, to the mountain where Jesus had told them to go. 17 When they saw him, they worshipped him; but some doubted. 18 Then Jesus came to them and said, ‘All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. 19 Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptising them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, 20 and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.’

Acts 10:34 Then Peter began to speak: ‘I now realise how true it is that God does not show favouritism’

Romans 14:12 So then, each of us will give an account of ourselves to God.

2 Corinthians 3:17 Now the Lord is the Spirit, and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is freedom.

2 Corinthians 7:10

Godly sorrow brings repentance that leads to salvation and leaves no regret, but worldly sorrow brings death.

Colossians 3:11 Here there is no Gentile or Jew, circumcised or uncircumcised, barbarian, Scythian, slave or free, but Christ is all, and is in all.

2 Timothy 2:13 if we are faithless,
    he remains faithful,
    for he cannot disown himself.

2 Timothy 2:19 Nevertheless, God’s solid foundation stands firm, sealed with this inscription: ‘The Lord knows those who are his,’ and, ‘Everyone who confesses the name of the Lord must turn away from wickedness.’

Hebrews 13:8 Jesus Christ is the same yesterday and today and for ever.

James 1:13 When tempted, no one should say, ‘God is tempting me.’ For God cannot be tempted by evil, nor does he tempt anyone;

James 1:17 Every good and perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of the heavenly lights, who does not change like shifting shadows.

1 Peter 3:22 who has gone into heaven and is at God’s right hand – with angels, authorities and powers in submission to him.

2 Peter 3:9 The Lord is not slow in keeping his promise, as some understand slowness. Instead he is patient with you, not wanting anyone to perish, but everyone to come to repentance.

Revelation 1:7 ‘Look, he is coming with the clouds,’[Daniel 7:13]
and ‘every eye will see him,
even those who pierced him’;
and all peoples on earth ‘will mourn because of him.’[Zech. 12:10]
So shall it be! Amen.

Revelation 17:14 They will wage war against the Lamb, but the Lamb will triumph over them because he is Lord of lords and King of kings – and with him will be his called, chosen and faithful followers.’

Revelation 20:2 He seized the dragon, that ancient snake, who is the devil, or Satan, and bound him for a thousand years.

Revelation 20:10 And the devil, who deceived them, was thrown into the lake of burning sulphur, where the beast and the false prophet had been thrown. They will be tormented day and night for ever and ever.

Revelation 21:27 Nothing impure will ever enter it, nor will anyone who does what is shameful or deceitful, but only those whose names are written in the Lamb’s book of life.

Revelation 22:3 No longer will there be any curse. The throne of God and of the Lamb will be in the city, and his servants will serve him.

Revelation 22:5 There will be no more night. They will not need the light of a lamp or the light of the sun, for the Lord God will give them light. And they will reign for ever and ever.

All of God’s promises are given for a purpose – to free you from your sin. Those people described by Jesus in John 14:24Anyone who does not love me [that is Jesus] will not obey my [His] teaching.”  are in great personal danger. For they are still living in sin while claiming to be Christian.

The Importance of Believing Gods Promises

24th January 2018 mikehill4jesus “The Importance of Believing God’s Promises”
Linked to an mp3 audio podcast (23.37)

Today I am starting to discuss the subject of God’s Promises in my Blogs and Podcasts

What happens when God’s Promises are not believed
Matthew 13:53-58

A prophet without honour

53 When Jesus had finished these parables, he moved on from there. 54 Coming to his home town, he began teaching the people in their synagogue, and they were amazed. ‘Where did this man get this wisdom and these miraculous powers?’ they asked. 55 ‘Isn’t this the carpenter’s son? Isn’t his mother’s name Mary, and aren’t his brothers James, Joseph, Simon and Judas? 56 Aren’t all his sisters with us? Where then did this man get all these things?’ 57 And they took offence at him.

But Jesus said to them, ‘A prophet is not without honour except in his own town and in his own home.’

58 And he did not do many miracles there because of their lack of faith.

My Christian experience has proven that this is the same today in many places where people profess to be Christian. They don’t believe God’s promises that encourage us to love Jesus and to obey His Teachings.

Yes, it cost a person to love and obey the Lord Jesus. But it’s a price worth paying
Luke 18:28 Peter said to him, ‘We have left all we had to follow you!’

29 ‘Truly I tell you,’ Jesus said to them, ‘no one who has left home or wife or brothers or sisters or parents or children for the sake of the kingdom of God 30 will fail to receive many times as much in this age, and in the age to come eternal life.’

The Apostle Paul wrote in 2 Corinthians 4

Present weakness and resurrection life

4 Therefore, since through God’s mercy we have this ministry, we do not lose heart. 2 Rather, we have renounced secret and shameful ways; we do not use deception, nor do we distort the word of God. On the contrary, by setting forth the truth plainly we commend ourselves to everyone’s conscience in the sight of God. 3 And even if our gospel is veiled, it is veiled to those who are perishing. 4 The god of this age has blinded the minds of unbelievers, so that they cannot see the light of the gospel that displays the glory of Christ, who is the image of God. 5 For what we preach is not ourselves, but Jesus Christ as Lord, and ourselves as your servants for Jesus’ sake. 6 For God, who said, ‘Let light shine out of darkness,’[Gen. 1:3] made his light shine in our hearts to give us the light of the knowledge of God’s glory displayed in the face of Christ.

7 But we have this treasure in jars of clay to show that this all-surpassing power is from God and not from us. 8 We are hard pressed on every side, but not crushed; perplexed, but not in despair; 9 persecuted, but not abandoned; struck down, but not destroyed. 10 We always carry around in our body the death of Jesus, so that the life of Jesus may also be revealed in our body. 11 For we who are alive are always being given over to death for Jesus’ sake, so that his life may also be revealed in our mortal body. 12 So then, death is at work in us, but life is at work in you.

13 It is written: ‘I believed; therefore I have spoken.’[Psalm 116:10] Since we have that same spirit of[Or Spirit-given] faith, we also believe and therefore speak, 14 because we know that the one who raised the Lord Jesus from the dead will also raise us with Jesus and present us with you to himself. 15 All this is for your benefit, so that the grace that is reaching more and more people may cause thanksgiving to overflow to the glory of God.

16 Therefore we do not lose heart. Though outwardly we are wasting away, yet inwardly we are being renewed day by day. 17 For our light and momentary troubles are achieving for us an eternal glory that far outweighs them all. 18 So we fix our eyes not on what is seen, but on what is unseen, since what is seen is temporary, but what is unseen is eternal.

Those Jesus describes in John 14:24 ‘Anyone who does not love me will not obey my teaching.’ Cannot be as Paul describes in the above verses in 2 Corinthians, for they have not trusted in the promises of God! Though many call themselves “Christian” they are only self-deceived.

All of God’s promises are given for a purpose – to free you from your sin.

Matthew 1:21 She will give birth to a son, and you are to give him the name Jesus,[a] because he will save his people from their sins.’
Footnotes:
[a] Matthew 1:21 Jesus is the Greek form of Joshua, which means the Lord saves.

I have been witnessing for my Lord and Saviour since 1977 – 40 long years – and must have reached millions of people with my testimony and teaching about “Living with God and Defeating the Devil”. YET, out of the estimated 2.2 billion professing Christians, I do not have a single one as a social friend or supporter. This despite the command of the Lord Jesus to those who claim to belong to Him through His Gospel.
John 13:34 “A new command I give you: Love one another. As I have loved you, so you must love one another. 35 By this everyone will know that you are my disciples, if you love one another.”

Why is this? Well, either they are not in love with Him, so refuse to obey Him, or they have been misled by the Christless Christians described in John 14:24.

This a part of Finney’s Sermon, hence the old English

The Oberlin Evangelist.

JESUS, A SAVIOR FROM SINNING
Sermon by Prof. C.G. Finney
Reported by The Editor.

“Thou shalt call His name Jesus, for He shall save his people from their sins.” –Matt. 1:21.

In discussing fundamentally the subject presented in the text, it is pertinent to remark,

I. That salvation from sin is the great want of humanity. On this point there can be no mistake. Whatever else may be controverted or denied, this cannot be. Universal observation combines with universal consciousness to attest that this is a stubborn fact–salvation from sin is the great want of our sinning race. Nothing is more true than that as a race, men are sinners. All men know each other to be sinners, and of course what all know to be true of each one, and what each one knows to be true of all, must be a matter of universal knowledge.

I said, whatever else is true or is not true, this is true;–that men need salvation from sin. The reason of this need is that they are sinners, and as sinners, they are utterly lost to happiness, unless they can be saved from their sins. No man can be honest and yet deny this. This one truth is forever settled and known by all men.

By being saved from sin I do not mean pardon; for every man knows that pardon, without salvation from sinning, would not really save; for if a man were pardoned, but were still given up to the working of his sinful passions and selfish spirit, he would make for himself a hell even in heaven; nay more, it is undoubtedly true that heaven would be the severest form of hell to the unsaved in heart. There can be no heaven without holiness, and the change from sin to such holiness as fits for heaven is exceedingly great. A world of selfish beings thrown together anywhere would be unutterably miserable.

REMARKS.

1. Many have hope who are not really saved in any proper sense of the word. They are neither saved from sin now, nor will they be saved from hell hereafter.

2. No one has reason to hope for heaven any further than he is really saved from sin.

3. They who possess the religion of the gospel and yet are not sanctified, virtually bring up an evil report against the gospel. They say,–“I am a Christian, but I know that I am not saved from sin. I embrace a gospel which professes to save from sin, you see in me how much its professions are worth.” What must be the influence of such a testimony?

4. When a Christian commits himself to Jesus to save from sin, it is well for him to use this argument in prayer; “Lord, it will dishonor Thee if Thou dost not save me from all sin. I have trusted in Thee; I do now take hold of thy promises; let them be fulfilled in my case, and let all men seeing what thy grace has done for me, know thy salvation.”

5. Some seem not to have in view Christ’s honor, but their own. They think they shall disgrace themselves if they do not overcome temptation; but they do not feel that the greatest evil of all is that they will thus dishonor Christ.

6. If any man will believe, he shall see no other difficulty. No obstacle can possibly be in his way to shut off the power of the gospel from his soul, when once he has embraced the sinner’s Savior by a living faith.

7. The great difficulty now is for the Savior to persuade men to believe, and to cast themselves on him by a perpetual self-renunciation and a perpetual dependence. Let me ask you, my hearers, how many of you can testify that this is the case with yourselves:–that in your own individual case, Jesus has to your certain knowledge been laboring to present himself before you in such inviting forms as should inspire faith in Himself; but he has labored almost, or perhaps altogether in vain.

8. Half-way believers are the greatest stumbling-blocks in religion. They profess to embrace Christ, and to be religious, and yet fail of having grace enough to overcome sin. O! if they would only embrace Jesus, so as to be full of his Spirit, how greatly would they honor their Lord! As it is, how earthly-minded, sensual, and devilish do they become! No wonder they are ashamed to say that Jesus is a Savior from sin. How can they bear such testimony without reading themselves out of the pale of the heirs of heaven?

This teaching is clear, yet we humans, even when claiming to be a Christian, a follower of Christ, still desire to live in Sin!

THOSE WHO CLAIM TO BE CHRISTIAN, BUT REFUSE TO STOP SINNING, NEVER LIVE AS DESCRIBED BY GOD IN JOHN 14:23, BUT CONTINUE AS HE DESCRIBES IN JOHN 14:24

What is the true Church part 3 Founded by Christ

John 14:23 Jesus replied, ‘Anyone who loves me will obey my teaching. My Father will love them, and we will come to them and make our home with them [True Christians]. 24 Anyone who does not love me will not obey my teaching [These people operate the many variations of Churchianity]. These words you hear are not my own; they belong to the Father who sent me.’

Christ the foundation-stone of the true Church.
1 Corinthians 3:11 For no one can lay any foundation other than the one already laid, which is Jesus Christ.

Ephesians 2:20 built on the foundation of the apostles and prophets, with Christ Jesus himself as the chief cornerstone.

1 Peter 2:4 As you come to him, the living Stone–rejected by men but chosen by God and precious to him– 5 you also, like living stones, are being built into a spiritual house to be a holy priesthood, offering spiritual sacrifices acceptable to God through Jesus Christ. 6 For in Scripture it says: “See, I lay a stone in Zion, a chosen and precious cornerstone, and the one who trusts in him will never be put to shame.”

This all happened because I simply trusted the Lord Jesus and loved Him for what he did for me, a wicked and lost soul.

Matthew 28:19 Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptising them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, 20 and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.’

The instruction was clear!

Mark 16:20 Then the disciples went out and preached everywhere, and the Lord worked with them and confirmed his word by the signs that accompanied it.

The result was clear!

Matthew 7:13-14

The narrow and wide gates

13 ‘Enter through the narrow gate. For wide is the gate and broad is the road that leads to destruction, and many enter through it. 14 But small is the gate and narrow the road that leads to life, and only a few find it.

Yet what do we see today?

Those few on the Narrow Road, John 14:23.

And the many on the Broad Road, John 14:24.

Matthew 7:15-29

True and false prophets

15 ‘Watch out for false prophets. They come to you in sheep’s clothing, but inwardly they are ferocious wolves. 16 By their fruit you will recognise them. Do people pick grapes from thorn-bushes, or figs from thistles? 17 Likewise, every good tree bears good fruit, but a bad tree bears bad fruit. 18 A good tree cannot bear bad fruit, and a bad tree cannot bear good fruit. 19 Every tree that does not bear good fruit is cut down and thrown into the fire. 20 Thus, by their fruit you will recognise them.

True and false disciples

21 ‘Not everyone who says to me, “Lord, Lord,” will enter the kingdom of heaven, but only the one who does the will of my Father who is in heaven. 22 Many will say to me on that day, “Lord, Lord, did we not prophesy in your name and in your name drive out demons and in your name perform many miracles?” 23 Then I will tell them plainly, “I never knew you. Away from me, you evildoers!”

The wise and foolish builders

24 ‘Therefore everyone who hears these words of mine and puts them into practice is like a wise man who built his house on the rock. 25 The rain came down, the streams rose, and the winds blew and beat against that house; yet it did not fall, because it had its foundation on the rock. 26 But everyone who hears these words of mine and does not put them into practice is like a foolish man who built his house on sand. 27 The rain came down, the streams rose, and the winds blew and beat against that house, and it fell with a great crash.’

28 When Jesus had finished saying these things, the crowds were amazed at his teaching, 29 because he taught as one who had authority, and not as their teachers of the law.

This teaching is clear, yet we humans still quench the Holy Spirit and stumble into false teaching and practice!

THOSE WHO CLAIM TO BE CHRISTIAN, BUT REFUSE TO LEARN AND OBEY THE TEACHINGS OF JESUS, WILL ALWAYS FORM THEIR OWN VERSION OF CHRISTIANITY – FORMING THEIR OWN CHURCHES WITH THEIR OWN LEADERS

What is the true Church part 2 the Body of Christ

John 14:23 Jesus replied, ‘Anyone who loves me will obey my teaching. These words you hear are not my own; they belong to the Father who sent me.’

The True Church is the Body of Christ.
Ephesians 1:23 ‘which is his body, the fullness of him who fills everything in every way.’
I defy anyone to say that what we see as Christianity today is like this. It is not!

Colossians 1:24 ‘Now I rejoice in what was suffered for you, and I fill up in my flesh what is still lacking in regard to Christ’s afflictions, for the sake of his body, which is the church.’

1 Peter 4:13 ‘But rejoice inasmuch as you participate in the sufferings of Christ, so that you may be overjoyed when his glory is revealed.’
True Christians share in Christ’s sufferings, persecuted by those that the Father of the Lord Jesus Christ is seeking to rescue from the Devil.

The Apostles Paul and Peter were teaching true disciples of Jesus. Though, as with all who seek to learn from Jesus through the Holy Spirit led Ministers, the level of understanding varied. It was so with the first disciples of Jesus while he was living a human life on earth. He often got frustrated with them.
John 14:5-14

Jesus the way to the Father

5 Thomas said to him, ‘Lord, we don’t know where you are going, so how can we know the way?’

6 Jesus answered, ‘I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me. 7 If you really know me, you will know [Some manuscripts If you really knew me, you would know] my Father as well. From now on, you do know him and have seen him.’

8 Philip said, ‘Lord, show us the Father and that will be enough for us.’

9 Jesus answered: ‘Don’t you know me, Philip, even after I have been among you such a long time? Anyone who has seen me has seen the Father. How can you say, “Show us the Father”? 10 Don’t you believe that I am in the Father, and that the Father is in me? The words I say to you I do not speak on my own authority. Rather, it is the Father, living in me, who is doing his work. 11 Believe me when I say that I am in the Father and the Father is in me; or at least believe on the evidence of the works themselves. 12 Very truly I tell you, whoever believes in me will do the works I have been doing, and they will do even greater things than these, because I am going to the Father. 13 And I will do whatever you ask in my name, so that the Father may be glorified in the Son. 14 You may ask me for anything in my name, and I will do it.

The Spiritual War

That battle that all whom Jesus describes in John 14:23 are involved in. It is against the Devil and all those whom he controls as described in John 14:24. It is a painful war that will be won by those described in John 14:23, though many will die before it is won.

Anyone who truly gives their life to the Lord Jesus will suffer persecution.

The Lord Jesus says in John 16:33 ‘I have told you these things, so that in me you may have peace. In this world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world.’

As a Witness for the Lord Jesus Christ, I suffer a lot of mental and social abuse from those who hate my Lord Jesus and Me. Therefore, it’s good I have a place for certain prayers, reflection, bible study and meditation. All Visitors to it are greatly effected and become peaceful.

Persecution
Persecution is unfair or abusive treatment toward a person or group of people, such as the persecution of someone who is different by calling him or her rude names and making threats.

The noun persecution is related to persecute, which comes from Latin persecut-, meaning “followed with hostility.” Persecution means hassling or singling out a person or group because of race, religion, ethnicity, sexual orientation, gender, or social status.

The Lord Jesus suffered persecution. He voluntarily submitted to it. He was patient while under it. As He said above, those as described in John 14:23, his spiritually converted Disciples, may expect it.

His spiritually converted Disciples suffer it for the sake of God. Their persecution, is a persecution of the Lord Jesus. To repeat because it’s important. All that live godly in Christ, shall suffer.

Why is there persecution?
It originates in the persecutors ignorance of God and Christ Jesus and their hatred of them. Hatred of the Gospel of Jesus. Pride! Mistaken zeal. It is inconsistent with the spirit of the Gospel in that even some Christians persecute others. Humans by nature are addicted to it. Preachers of the Gospel, like Mike Hill, are subject to it for no valid reason; some unto death. God does not forsake the true disciples who are under persecution, in fact, he delivers them out of it. Persecution cannot separate the true Disciple from the Lord Jesus Christ. Lawful means may be used to enable them to escape it.

Disciples suffering persecution should.
Commit themselves to God. Exhibit patience. Rejoice. Glorify God. Pray for deliverance. Pray for those inflicting the persecution. Return blessings for the persecution. The hope of future blessings supports those who are under it. They are blessed for enduring it for Christ’s sake. They pray for those suffering persecution. Hypocrites, those who claim to belong to God, but they don’t love and obey the Lord Jesus, cannot endure it and would even deny loving Jesus in order to avoid it. False teachers of Christianity shrink from it.

The Wicked.
Are addicted to persecuting others and are active in it, even encouraging others to do it. In fact they rejoice in its success! However, they are punished for doing the persecution.

The act of Persecution is against Moral Law

Persecutors:

  1. Distance themselves from you
  2. Lie to you and about you
  3. Seek to use you
  4. Put rigid conditions in place before they love you
  5. Are selfish in their conduct towards you
  6. Smile when they see they are causing you and your family pain
  7. Seek to interfere with your family to make it unstable
  8. They seek to make you react against their persecution and thus look bad
  9. They distort the Holy Bible and make out God is a liar
  10. They fight against the will of God
  11. They avoid defending you when their persecution takes hold
  12. They never apologise or make reparation when their persecution comes to public notice
  13. They leave town once exposed
  14. Justice is not something that they want for you
  15. They are brazen in that they openly persecute you
  16. They are brazen in that they openly disobey the teachings of Jesus
  17. Moral Law is something that they completely disregard
  18. Etc.

This all happened because I simply trusted the Lord Jesus and loved Him for what he did for me, a wicked and lost soul.
