Before I can help others to be saved by my Lord Jesus, I first have to make sure that I am saved.
This was something that the very early believers of the Lord Jesus knew well. This was what the Apostle Paul, who was called personally by Jesus to be a witness for him, taught one of his helpers, Timothy.
1 Timothy 4:16 Watch your life and doctrine closely [Timothy]. Persevere in them, because if you do, you will save both yourself and your hearers.
This is still sound advice today and something that I have to keep reminding myself about doing.
In the recent past, direct preaching or written preaching was how ministers preached to the Lost Souls they were trying to bring to the Lord Jesus for saving. Today, we have the Internet with it’s capacity to reach may parts of the world.
However, the Internet is also a powerful means of passing on wrong preaching.
One of the things that I wanted to do with my website was to ensure that it’s visitors had a chance to see who Mike Hill was. To be open and honest in my Ministry. This I have been doing since 1998, though my Ministry started in 1977.
So you can see I have had a long time of ministry in trying to reach lost souls. 38 years of non-stop witnessing for my Lord and Saviour, Jesus Christ. I know about this problem of reaching Lost Souls.
In about 1996, I was sitting in a Dentist Waiting Room when I saw in a Magazine that it was possible to have a website. The rest is history and today I average 1,500 visitors a day from around the world. My Videos are also going out into the world.
Of course preaching about the Lord Jesus is not popular and I am sure that if my website was about sex or popular entertainment, I would have more visitors and video watchers.
I once put a video on youtube that showed Blue Tits [Birds] feeding outside my Static Caravan. It had over 20,000 viewers. A Church Minister had a website back in the early days and when she added a webpage about Star Trek visitor numbers increased.
Over the next few weeks I want to share more on this subject of so preaching the Gospel as to secure the salvation of souls.
The problem is, how shall we win souls wholly to Christ?
Certainly we must win them away from themselves.
