His teachings and commands are not what the Lost Souls in this world want to do.
These are the foundation words of my Testimony and Teachings.
John 14:23 Jesus replied, ‘Anyone who loves me will obey my teaching. My Father will love them, and we will come to them and make our home with them. 24 Anyone who does not love me will not obey my teaching. These words you hear are not my own; they belong to the Father who sent me.’
Just take this one teaching of the Lord Jesus Christ, the Son of God and the only Saviour available to all Lost Souls. Those humans who are separated from God and under the power of Satan, the Devil.
Luke 14:26 [Jesus said] ‘If anyone comes to me and does not hate father and mother, wife and children, brothers and sisters – yes, even their own life – such a person cannot be my disciple.’
Those humans who are mentioned by the Lord Jesus in John 14:23, know this and fulfil its requirement.
Yes, I love my family!
Yes, I love myself!
BUT, I hate what they and I sometimes do in life. For we are not perfect and must be part of the reason that
he, Jesus Christ the perfect Son of God, had to and has to go through so much hurt and suffering for all of us with out reserve.
The Lord commands us who are in John 14:23.
Love for enemies
43 ‘You have heard that it was said, “Love your neighbour[a] and hate your enemy.” 44 But I tell you, love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you, 45 that you may be children of your Father in heaven. He causes his sun to rise on the evil and the good, and sends rain on the righteous and the unrighteous. 46 If you love those who love you, what reward will you get? Are not even the tax collectors doing that? 47 And if you greet only your own people, what are you doing more than others? Do not even pagans do that? 48 Be perfect, therefore, as your heavenly Father is perfect.
[a] Matthew 5:43 Lev. 19:18
Those the Lord Jesus mentions in John 14:24, no matter what their religion or beliefs regarding him, cannot do this!
That is why what he promised those disciples in John 14:23, is true.
Matthew 10:34 ‘Do not suppose that I have come to bring peace to the earth. I did not come to bring peace, but a sword. 35 For I have come to turn
‘“a man against his father,
a daughter against her mother,
a daughter-in-law against her mother-in-law –
36 a man’s enemies will be the members of his own household.”[a]
37 ‘Anyone who loves their father or mother more than me is not worthy of me; anyone who loves their son or daughter more than me is not worthy of me. 38 Whoever does not take up their cross and follow me is not worthy of me. 39 Whoever finds their life will lose it, and whoever loses their life for my sake will find it.
40 ‘Anyone who welcomes you welcomes me, and anyone who welcomes me welcomes the one who sent me. 41 Whoever welcomes a prophet as a prophet will receive a prophet’s reward, and whoever welcomes a righteous person as a righteous person will receive a righteous person’s reward. 42 And if anyone gives even a cup of cold water to one of these little ones who is my disciple, truly I tell you, that person will certainly not lose their reward.’
[a] Matthew 10:36 Micah 7:6
I have often visited Christians and they offered me nothing. I have often communicated to Christians and they have not replied. Therefore Matthew 10:40-42 is a serious teaching from the Lord. You can see just how much it has cost them for their behaviour towards me.
So, to finish.
Those referred to in John 14:23 have had the Lord Jesus and his Father come and made their home with them. Praise the Lord, for the Holy Spirit of God confirms this fact.
Those referred to in John 14:24 live out their lives and religion while separated from the Lord and his Father. The lack of the Holy Spirit of God in their lives confirms this fact.
So why do those in John 14:23 love and pray and make sacrifices for their enemies mentioned in John 14:24?
The answer is simple. They want their enemies to be saved from Hell by being reconciled to God – that is to be right with Jesus and have both Him and his Father come and make their home with them also. That they also will have the blessing and power of God the Holy Spirit in their life.
May you be as those in John 14:23 and thus be set free from the control of Satan, the Devil.
