I find it useful to read and examine what the Holy Bible says about true disciples of my Lord Jesus who obeyed his teachings and commands.
By doing so, I can measure my own performance. Even though I have known my Lord Jesus for 67 years and been his born-again disciple for 38 years, I am still learning or being reminded of what is expected of me. The Holy Spirit is essential when doing this as Satan can easily deceive me.
Paul’s use of his freedom.
1 Corinthians 9:19 Though I am free and belong to no one, I have made myself a slave to everyone, to win as many as possible. 20 To the Jews I became like a Jew, to win the Jews. To those under the law I became like one under the law (though I myself am not under the law), so as to win those under the law. 21 To those not having the law I became like one not having the law (though I am not free from God’s law but am under Christ’s law), so as to win those not having the law. 22 To the weak I became weak, to win the weak. I have become all things to all people so that by all possible means I might save some. 23 I do all this for the sake of the gospel, that I may share in its blessings.
Paul and his Co-Workers being denigrated for obeying their Lord Jesus.
2 Corinthians 5:13 If we are ‘out of our mind,’ as some say, it is for God; if we are in our right mind, it is for you.
Paul and his Co-Workers were aware of the Devils Schemes that cause people to hurt them.
2 Corinthians 2:10 Anyone you forgive, I also forgive. And what I have forgiven – if there was anything to forgive – I have forgiven in the sight of Christ for your sake, 11 in order that Satan might not outwit us. For we are not unaware of his schemes.
True disciples of the Lord Jesus are Ministers of the new covenant – that reconciles them to
12 Now when I went to Troas to preach the gospel of Christ and found that the Lord had opened a door for me, 13 I still had no peace of mind, because I did not find my brother Titus there. So I said goodbye to them and went on to Macedonia.
The effect that true disciples called to be Ministers for Christ Jesus have on the saved and
14 But thanks be to God, who always leads us as captives in Christ’s triumphal procession and uses us to spread the aroma of the knowledge of him everywhere. 15 For we are to God the pleasing aroma of Christ among those who are being saved and those who are perishing. 16 To the one we are an aroma that brings death; to the other, an aroma that brings life. And who is equal to such a task?
True Ministers serve that the Lost may be saved. False Minister serve to make money.
17 Unlike so many, we do not peddle the word of God for profit. On the contrary, in Christ we speak before God with sincerity, as those sent from God.
