mikehill4jesus “This FLESH that acts against the Holy Spirit must be disciplined.”
22nd July 2016 (10.51) My .mp3 Thought for Today Audio
To the Pastors and Leaders who are TRULY members of Christ’s Body
You, and the members you minister to, must die to self and live for Christ Jesus who is your Lord and Saviour. As Paul said and we must be also. Galatians 2:19 ‘For through the law I died to the law so that I might live for God. 20 I have been crucified with Christ and I no longer live, but Christ lives in me. The life I now live in the body, I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me. 21 I do not set aside the grace of God, for if righteousness could be gained through the law, Christ died for nothing!’
The Lord Jesus taught about the fulfilment of the law in Matthew 5:17 ‘Do not think that I have come to abolish the Law or the Prophets; I have not come to abolish them but to fulfil them. 18 For truly I tell you, until heaven and earth disappear, not the smallest letter, not the least stroke of a pen, will by any means disappear from the Law until everything is accomplished. 19 Therefore anyone who sets aside one of the least of these commands and teaches others accordingly will be called least in the kingdom of heaven, but whoever practises and teaches these commands will be called great in the kingdom of heaven. 20 For I tell you that unless your righteousness surpasses that of the Pharisees and the teachers of the law, you will certainly not enter the kingdom of heaven.
The FLESH resists this!
This true Church is purchased by the blood of Christ.
Acts 20:28 Keep watch over yourselves and all the flock of which the Holy Spirit has made you overseers. Be shepherds of the church of God, which he bought with his own blood.
The Lord Jesus Christ is the head of HIS BODY.
Ephesians 1:22 And God placed all things under his feet and appointed him to be head over everything for the church,
Nobody, and I repeat, “Nobody” has the right to overrule the Lord Jesus Christ! NOBODY!

If any church member, as represented in this image, is in conflict with the Holy Spirit of God. If any church leader is submitting to members like these, then they are in conflict with the Holy Spirit of God.
Defiling of the Body of Christ will be punished.
1 Corinthians 3:17 If anyone destroys God’s temple, God will destroy him; for God’s temple is sacred, and you are that temple.
Spiritual Warfare is for the benefit of both the members of Christ’s Holy Body here on Earth and the Lost Souls who do not know God.
Discipline of the Body of Christ
Ministers authorised to establish discipline in the Body of Christ.
Matthew 16:19 I will give you the keys of the kingdom of heaven; whatever you bind on earth will be [Or will have been] bound in heaven, and whatever you loose on earth will be [Or will have been] loosed in heaven.’
Matthew 18: ‘Truly I tell you, whatever you bind on earth will be [Or will have been] bound in heaven, and whatever you loose on earth will be [Or will have been] loosed in heaven.
Discipline of the Body of Christ consists in:
Maintaining sound doctrine
Timothy charged to oppose false teachers in 1 Timothy 1:3 As I urged you when I went into Macedonia, stay there in Ephesus so that you may command certain people not to teach false doctrines any longer
with Titus 1:13 This saying is true. Therefore rebuke them sharply, so that they will be sound in the faith
Ordering its affairs
Paul in 1 Corinthians 11:34 Anyone who is hungry should eat something at home, so that when you meet together it may not result in judgment. And when I come I will give further instructions.
And appointing elders who love what is good in Titus 1:5 The reason I left you in Crete was that you might put in order what was left unfinished and appoint [Or ordain] elders in every town, as I directed you.
Paul in 1 Timothy 5:20 But those elders who are sinning you are to reprove before everyone, so that the others may take warning.
with 2 Timothy 4:2 preach the word; be prepared in season and out of season; correct, rebuke and encourage – with great patience and careful instruction.
Removing obstinate offenders
Paul in 1 Corinthians 5:3 For my part, even though I am not physically present, I am with you in spirit. As one who is present with you in this way, I have already passed judgment in the name of our Lord Jesus on the one who has been doing this. 4 So when you are assembled and I am with you in spirit, and the power of our Lord Jesus is present, 5 hand this man over to Satan for the destruction of the flesh, [In contexts like this, the Greek word for flesh (sarx) refers to the sinful state of human beings, often presented as a power in opposition to the Spirit.] [Or of his body] so that his spirit may be saved on the day of the Lord.
13 God will judge those outside. ‘Expel the wicked person from among you.’ [Deut. 13:5; 17:7; 19:19; 21:21; 22:21,24; 24:7]
with 1 Timothy 1:20 Among them are Hymenaeus and Alexander, whom I have handed over to Satan to be taught not to blaspheme.
Discipline of the Body of Christ should be submitted to
The writer of Hebrews whose identity is unknown – But it is said that he was a Scholarly Christian who knew the Jewish Scriptures, in Hebrews 13:17 Have confidence in your leaders and submit to their authority, because they keep watch over you as those who must give an account. Do this so that their work will be a joy, not a burden, for that would be of no benefit to you.
Is for edification
What is edification, and why is it so important in the lives of believers? The word used for “edification” in the New Testament is oikodomé, which translates literally as “the building of a house.” The word appears in the King James Bible only about 20 times, and then only in the New Testament. It is translated into phrases such as “building up” in more modern translations.
Interestingly, its usage is also limited to Paul’s letters. The dictionary definition of edify is “to instruct and improve, especially in moral and religious knowledge.” According to Vine’s Expository Dictionary of Old and New Testament Words, the word indicates the promotion of “spiritual growth and development of character of believers, by teaching or by example, suggesting such spiritual progress as the result of patient labour.”
Paul said in 2 Corinthians 10:8 So even if I boast somewhat freely about the authority the Lord gave us for building you up rather than tearing you down, I will not be ashamed of it.
with 2 Corinthians 13:10 This is why I write these things when I am absent, that when I come I may not have to be harsh in my use of authority – the authority the Lord gave me for building you up, not for tearing you down.
Decency and order are the objects Discipline
Paul in 1 Corinthians 14:40 But everything should be done in a fitting and orderly way.
Discipline is to be exercised in a spirit of charity
Paul in 2 Corinthians 2:6 The punishment inflicted on him by the majority is sufficient. 7 Now instead, you ought to forgive and comfort him, so that he will not be overwhelmed by excessive sorrow. 8 I urge you, therefore, to reaffirm your love for him.
We must ALL respond to what the Holy Spirit wants before our lives end or the Lord Jesus returns in Power to destroy the evil of this world. The time for true repentance of are fleshly disobedience and a total obedience to the teachings of the Lord Jesus is NOW!!!!!
I know in my heart that many will not submit to the position of the Holy Spirit in Christ’s Body. But with His strength and guidance, I will do all that God has called me to do in order to save obstinate members of the Body of Christ. For that is what the Holy Spirit wants me to do at pain of my own punishment if I refuse to do what he wants. I have been doing it for 39 years.
