mikehill4jesus “Professing Christians who disobey the teachings of the Lord Jesus are self-deluded!”
23rd July 2016 (8.26) My .mp3 Thought for Today Audio
I meet and observe many who profess to be a Christians. However, they seem to be either ignorant of Christ’s teachings or they are self-deluded:
A characteristic of the wicked.
Psalm 49:18 Though while they live they count themselves blessed – and people praise you when you prosper
Prosperity frequently leads to it.
Psalm 30:6 When I felt secure, I said, ‘I shall never be shaken.’
Hosea 12:8 Ephraim boasts, ‘I am very rich; I have become wealthy. With all my wealth they will not find in me any iniquity or sin.’
Luke 12:17 He thought to himself, “What shall I do? I have no place to store my crops.” 18 ‘Then he said, “This is what I’ll do. I will tear down my barns and build bigger ones, and there I will store my surplus grain. 19 And I’ll say to myself, ‘You have plenty of grain laid up for many years. Take life easy; eat, drink and be merry.’”
Obstinate sinners often given up to it
Psalm 81:11 ‘But my people would not listen to me; Israel would not submit to me. 12 So I gave them over to their stubborn hearts to follow their own devices.
Hosea 4:17 Ephraim is joined to idols; leave him alone!
2 Thessalonians 2:10 and all the ways that wickedness deceives those who are perishing. They perish because they refused to love the truth and so be saved. 11 For this reason God sends them a powerful delusion so that they will believe the lie
Exhibited in thinking that:
Our own ways are right
Proverbs 14:12 There is a way that appears to be right, but in the end it leads to death.
We should adhere to established wicked practices.
Jeremiah 44:17 We will certainly do everything we said we would: we will burn incense to the Queen of Heaven and will pour out drink offerings to her just as we and our ancestors, our kings and our officials did in the towns of Judah and in the streets of Jerusalem. At that time we had plenty of food and were well off and suffered no harm.
We are pure.
Proverbs 30:12 those who are pure in their own eyes and yet are not cleansed of their filth;
We are better than others.
Luke 18:11 The Pharisee stood by himself and prayed: “God, I thank you that I am not like other people – robbers, evildoers, adulterers – or even like this tax collector.
We are rich in spiritual things.
Revelation 3:17 You say, “I am rich; I have acquired wealth and do not need a thing.” But you do not realise that you are wretched, pitiful, poor, blind and naked.
We may have peace while in sin
Deuteronomy 29:19 When such a person hears the words of this oath and they invoke a blessing on themselves, thinking, ‘I will be safe, even though I persist in going my own way,’ they will bring disaster on the watered land as well as the dry.
We are above adversity
Psalm 10:6 He says to himself, ‘Nothing will ever shake me.’ He swears, ‘No one will ever do me harm.’
Gifts entitle us to heaven.
True and false disciples Matthew 7:21 ‘Not everyone who says to me, “Lord, Lord,” will enter the kingdom of heaven, but only the one who does the will of my Father who is in heaven. 22 Many will say to me on that day, “Lord, Lord, did we not prophesy in your name and in your name drive out demons and in your name perform many miracles?”
Privileges entitle us to heaven.
Matthew 3:9 And do not think you can say to yourselves, “We have Abraham as our father.” I tell you that out of these stones God can raise up children for Abraham.
Luke 13:25 Once the owner of the house gets up and closes the door, you will stand outside knocking and pleading, “Sir, open the door for us.” ‘But he will answer, “I don’t know you or where you come from.” 26 ‘Then you will say, “We ate and drank with you, and you taught in our streets.”
God will not punish our sins.
Jeremiah 5:12 They have lied about the Lord; they said, ‘He will do nothing! No harm will come to us; we will never see sword or famine.
Christ shall not come to judge
2 Peter 3:4 They will say, ‘Where is this “coming” he promised? Ever since our ancestors died, everything goes on as it has since the beginning of creation.’
Our lives shall be prolonged.
‘Come,’ each one cries, ‘let me get wine!
Let us drink our fill of beer!
And tomorrow will be like today,
or even far better.’
Luke 12:19 And I’ll say to myself, ‘You have plenty of grain laid up for many years. Take life easy; eat, drink and be merry.’”
Boasting about tomorrow James 4:13 Now listen, you who say, ‘Today or tomorrow we will go to this or that city, spend a year there, carry on business and make money.’
Frequently persevered in, to the last.
Matthew 7:22 Many will say to me on that day, “Lord, Lord, did we not prophesy in your name and in your name drive out demons and in your name perform many miracles?”
Matthew 25:11 ‘Later the others also came. “Lord, Lord,” they said, “open the door for us!” 12 ‘But he replied, “Truly I tell you, I don’t know you.”
Luke 13:24 ‘Make every effort to enter through the narrow door, because many, I tell you, will try to enter and will not be able to. 25 Once the owner of the house gets up and closes the door, you will stand outside knocking and pleading, “Sir, open the door for us.” ‘But he will answer, “I don’t know you or where you come from.”
Fatal consequences of.
Matthew 7:23 Then I will tell them plainly, “I never knew you. Away from me, you evildoers!”
Matthew 24:48 But suppose that servant is wicked and says to himself, “My master is staying away a long time,” 49 and he then begins to beat his fellow servants and to eat and drink with drunkards. 50 The master of that servant will come on a day when he does not expect him and at an hour he is not aware of. 51 He will cut him to pieces and assign him a place with the hypocrites, where there will be weeping and gnashing of teeth.
Luke 12:20 ‘But God said to him, “You fool! This very night your life will be demanded from you. Then who will get what you have prepared for yourself?”
1 Thessalonians 5:3 While people are saying, ‘Peace and safety’, destruction will come on them suddenly, as labour pains on a pregnant woman, and they will not escape.
AHAB 1 Kings 20:27 When the Israelites were also mustered and given provisions, they marched out to meet them. The Israelites camped opposite them like two small flocks of goats, while the Arameans covered the countryside.
34 ‘I will return the cities my father took from your father,’ Ben-Hadad offered. ‘You may set up your own market areas in Damascus, as my father did in Samaria.’ Ahab said, ‘On the basis of a treaty I will set you free.’ So he made a treaty with him, and let him go.
ISRAELITES Hosea 12:8 Ephraim boasts, ‘I am very rich; I have become wealthy. With all my wealth they will not find in me any iniquity or sin.’
JEWS John 8:33 They answered him, ‘We are Abraham’s descendants and have never been slaves of anyone. How can you say that we shall be set free?’
41 You are doing the works of your own father.’ ‘We are not illegitimate children,’ they protested. ‘The only Father we have is God himself.’
CHURCH OF LAODICEA Revelation 3:17 You say, “I am rich; I have acquired wealth and do not need a thing.” But you do not realise that you are wretched, pitiful, poor, blind and naked.
THE LORD JESUS CHRIST IS REAL, SO IS THE FATHER, THE HOLY SPIRIT AND THE DEVIL
SO TO ENTER HEAVEN WE MUST BE REAL TO FOR THE BODY OF CHRIST IS REAL
HELL IS ALSO VERY REAL
IT’S TIME TO GET REAL!
We must ALL respond to what the Holy Spirit wants before our lives end or the Lord Jesus returns in Power to destroy the evil of this world. The time for true repentance of are fleshly disobedience and a total obedience to the teachings of the Lord Jesus is NOW!!!!!
I know in my heart that many will not submit to the position of the Holy Spirit in Christ’s Body. But with His strength and guidance, I will do all that God has called me to do in order to save obstinate members of the Body of Christ. For that is what the Holy Spirit wants me to do at pain of my own punishment if I refuse to do what he wants. I have been doing it for 39 years.
