mikehill4jesus “Is Jesus Christ appearing among his People true or false?”
8th August 2016 (11.13) My .mp3 Thought for Today Audio
Well, there are many Christian Leaders who need awaking to the truth!
John 14:23 Jesus replied, ‘Anyone who loves me will obey my teaching. My Father will love them, and we will come to them and make our home with them. 24 Anyone who does not love me will not obey my teaching. These words you hear are not my own; they belong to the Father who sent me.’
All people are in one or other of these two verses, for there is no Neutral Position – You are for the LORD JESUS or you are against HIM.
My BLOG is clearly about Spiritual Movements started and maintained by the Holy Spirit of God
During my 39 years of Christian involvement, I have witnessed a great deal of “Copy-Cat” Church Movements. The Common Denominator is CHURCH. Not the BODY OF CHRIST, though some Church Leaders will attribute themselves to it. Please note that in any Church Movement, Church Leaders will hold different opinions on their validity. I am making use of teaching by Charles G. Finney, as though not always supported, does largely coincide with my own Spiritual Experiences. Particularly in the area of following Biblical Teaching and Example which is being made clear by the Holy Spirit. As fully and clearly explained to those who love and obey Him in Johns Gospel Chapter 14.
Jesus Comforts His Disciples
John 14:1 “Do not let your hearts be troubled. You believe in God [Or Believe in God]; believe also in me. 2 My Father’s house has many rooms; if that were not so, would I have told you that I am going there to prepare a place for you? 3 And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come back and take you to be with me that you also may be where I am. 4 You know the way to the place where I am going.”
Jesus the Way to the Father
5 Thomas said to him, “Lord, we don’t know where you are going, so how can we know the way?”
6 Jesus answered, “I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me. 7 If you really know me, you will know [Some manuscripts If you really knew me, you would know] my Father as well. From now on, you do know him and have seen him.”
8 Philip said, “Lord, show us the Father and that will be enough for us.”
9 Jesus answered: “Don’t you know me, Philip, even after I have been among you such a long time? Anyone who has seen me has seen the Father. How can you say, ‘Show us the Father’? 10 Don’t you believe that I am in the Father, and that the Father is in me? The words I say to you I do not speak on my own authority. Rather, it is the Father, living in me, who is doing his work. 11 Believe me when I say that I am in the Father and the Father is in me; or at least believe on the evidence of the works themselves. 12 Very truly I tell you, whoever believes in me will do the works I have been doing, and they will do even greater things than these, because I am going to the Father. 13 And I will do whatever you ask in my name, so that the Father may be glorified in the Son. 14 You may ask me for anything in my name, and I will do it.
Jesus Promises the Holy Spirit
15 “If you love me, keep my commands. 16 And I will ask the Father, and he will give you another advocate to help you and be with you forever— 17 the Spirit of truth. The world cannot accept him, because it neither sees him nor knows him. But you know him, for he lives with you and will be [Some early manuscripts and is] in you. 18 I will not leave you as orphans; I will come to you. 19 Before long, the world will not see me anymore, but you will see me. Because I live, you also will live. 20 On that day you will realize that I am in my Father, and you are in me, and I am in you. 21 Whoever has my commands and keeps them is the one who loves me. The one who loves me will be loved by my Father, and I too will love them and show myself to them.”
22 Then Judas (not Judas Iscariot) said, “But, Lord, why do you intend to show yourself to us and not to the world?”
23 Jesus replied, “Anyone who loves me will obey my teaching. My Father will love them, and we will come to them and make our home with them. 24 Anyone who does not love me will not obey my teaching. These words you hear are not my own; they belong to the Father who sent me.
25 “All this I have spoken while still with you. 26 But the Advocate, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in my name, will teach you all things and will remind you of everything I have said to you. 27 Peace I leave with you; my peace I give you. I do not give to you as the world gives. Do not let your hearts be troubled and do not be afraid.
28 “You heard me say, ‘I am going away and I am coming back to you.’ If you loved me, you would be glad that I am going to the Father, for the Father is greater than I. 29 I have told you now before it happens, so that when it does happen you will believe. 30 I will not say much more to you, for the prince of this world is coming. He has no hold over me, 31 but he comes so that the world may learn that I love the Father and do exactly what my Father has commanded me.
“Come now; let us leave.
Charles G. Finney taught
Now this is a principle of the divine government, that when Christ is about to appear to revive his work among his people he sends a messenger to prepare his way. Nay! it is a curious fact that when he comes to judge and to condemn men he often sends them warning–he sends a messenger to prepare his way, whether he comes in judgement or in mercy: this is a very common thing and has been in all times; when he comes in judgement he warns men in order to put them on their guard, if by any means he may bring them to repentance; and when he comes in mercy he prepares them for such a visitation also–therefore, in the first instance, when the Lord comes to revive his work, somebody will be stirred up to call the attention of the people to the real condition of things and the necessity for a reformation among them. You will find this to be uniformly the fact, that when Christ is about to appear somebody will be stirred up to consider the spiritual wants of the people, and will do more or less to prepare the way for the coming of Christ by calling the attention of the people to their necessities. Sometimes it will be the pastor of the church, and this will generally be the case, or the leading members of the church, or other instrumentalities, will call the attention of the people to their spiritual wants, and then after this has been done, the Lord will suddenly come to his temple. There is first the seeking after the Lord, then a calling upon his name in earnest supplications for him to revive his work, and then the Lord whom they seek will suddenly come to his temple. The Lord’s temple is his true church on earth, of which the temple at Jerusalem was only a type; and doubtless reference is made in this passage to the people of God and not merely to the temple at Jerusalem. In the second verse it is said, “But who may abide the day of his coming? And who shall stand when he appeareth? for he is like a refiner’s fire and like fuller’s soap.” Now what did Christ do when he first appeared amongst men? And here let me say that what he did then he does substantially now under similar circumstances, and for the same reason–because of the necessity for it; now it is always to be assumed when Christ comes to revive his work that such a revival is needed. But what is implied in such a necessity as a visitation for a revival? There is a great deal implied in the necessity for such a visitation; for this reason, whenever he comes to revive his work in any place there is a great need for it.
The Lord Jesus is in total Command and provides ministers for His Body.
Ephesians 1:22 And God placed all things under his feet and appointed him to be head over everything for the church, 23 which is his body, the fullness of him who fills everything in every way.
Colossians 1:24 Now I rejoice in what was suffered for you, and I fill up in my flesh what is still lacking in regard to Christ’s afflictions, for the sake of his body, which is the church.
Jeremiah 3:15 Then I will give you shepherds after my own heart, who will lead you with knowledge and understanding.
Ephesians 4:11 It was he who gave some to be apostles, some to be prophets, some to be evangelists, and some to be pastors and teachers, 12 to prepare God’s people for works of service, so that the body of Christ may be built up 13 until we all reach unity in the faith and in the knowledge of the Son of God and become mature, attaining to the whole measure of the fullness of Christ. 14 Then we will no longer be infants, tossed back and forth by the waves, and blown here and there by every wind of teaching and by the cunning and craftiness of men in their deceitful scheming. 15 Instead, speaking the truth in love, we will in all things grow up into him who is the Head, that is, Christ. 16 From him the whole body, joined and held together by every supporting ligament, grows and builds itself up in love, as each part does its work.
Yes, he gives HIS CHURCH ministers who act for him in his Spiritual Body. BUT they are not there to use Him, but to be used by Him. The Holy Spirit is not a TOOL to be used when we choose. He, the HOLY SPIRIT, is part of GOD! The Ministers are to do the will of the Holy Spirit, not to get Him to do our will – the WILL of the FLESH. They are to have the same heart of their Lord and Saviour.
The Lovers of Jesus are baptised into His Body by one Spirit
1 Corinthians 12:13 For we were all baptised by one Spirit into one body–whether Jews or Greeks, slave or free–and we were all given the one Spirit to drink.
Revelation 3:19 ‘Those whom I love I rebuke and discipline. So be earnest and repent.’
That members of his Spiritual Body who have allowed unconverted Christians to have control of them are to be disciplined by the Lord. The corruption of Christ’s Body is impossible, but those members who try to defame it, dishonour it, shame it, pollute it with worldly inputs, THEY will be rebuked and disciplined – and that day nears.
So we are not talking about unconverted Christian Leaders
They are already being punished by the Lord God.
What about Christian Church Leaders who bring Evildoers into the Leadership? Evildoers who physically, mentally, financially and SEXUALLY abuse both saved and lost souls.
WHAT IS THE LORD GOING TO DO ABOUT THEM?
Malachi 3:1 ‘I will send my messenger, who will prepare the way before me. Then suddenly the Lord you are seeking will come to his temple; the messenger of the covenant, whom you desire, will come,’ says the Lord Almighty. 2 But who can endure the day of his coming? Who can stand when he appears? For he will be like a refiner’s fire or a launderer’s soap. 3 He will sit as a refiner and purifier of silver; he will purify the Levites and refine them like gold and silver. Then the Lord will have men who will bring offerings in righteousness, 4 and the offerings of Judah and Jerusalem will be acceptable to the Lord, as in days gone by, as in former years. 5 ‘So I will come to put you on trial. I will be quick to testify against sorcerers, adulterers and perjurers, against those who defraud labourers of their wages, who oppress the widows and the fatherless, and deprive the foreigners among you of justice, but do not fear me,’ says the Lord Almighty.’
I will continue on this theme of “Christ appearing among his People” tomorrow and God willing through the next week.
Myself and Others who are also in the Spiritual Body of Christ [John 14:23], are being motivated by the Holy Spirit to spiritually gather for the coming visits of the Powerful Lord Jesus. The Spiritual Warfare will be intense but the LORD GOD will be fighting at our head.
The Holy Spirit will become visible to all who have incurred God’s wrath [John 14:24], that they will shake in terror and repent. No longer to live out their self-delusion and lies but to grasp the SOUL SAVING GOSPEL with all their being before they are destroyed.
