John 15:1-8 New International Version – UK (NIVUK)
The vine and the branches
15:1 ‘I am the true vine, and my Father is the gardener. 2 He cuts off every branch in me that bears no fruit, while every branch that does bear fruit he prunes [The Greek for he prunes also means he cleans.] so that it will be even more fruitful. 3 You are already clean because of the word I have spoken to you. 4 Remain in me, as I also remain in you. No branch can bear fruit by itself; it must remain in the vine. Neither can you bear fruit unless you remain in me.

5 ‘I am the vine; you are the branches. If you remain in me and I in you, you will bear much fruit; apart from me you can do nothing. 6 If you do not remain in me, you are like a branch that is thrown away and withers; such branches are picked up, thrown into the fire and burned. 7 If you remain in me and my words remain in you, ask whatever you wish, and it will be done for you. 8 This is to my Father’s glory, that you bear much fruit, showing yourselves to be my disciples.

A Gardener is a person who tends and cultivates
John 14:23 Jesus replied, ‘Anyone who loves me will obey my teaching. My Father will love them, and we will come to them and make our home with them. 24 Anyone who does not love me will not obey my teaching. These words you hear are not my own; they belong to the Father who sent me.’

Clearly, if you want to see it, those people described in John 14:23 are like a garden that has a gardener.

Whereas, those people described in John 14:24 are like a garden without a gardener. All gardeners know in both their hearts and minds, that once you neglect your garden, it starts to grow wild. Much of what the world would describe as “Christianity” but is actually “Churchianity” is broken up into wild areas that are spiritually uninhabited, uncultivated, or inhospitable. They refuse to have the Spiritual Gardener working in them.

An unpruned Vine and in the top left you can see the pruned branches waiting to be burnt.

Jesus and His True Disciples, John 14:23, aim to help, not hinder. Let Him and Us help you.

God uses the Holy Spirit to keep true disciples growing properly and thus bearing lots of good fruit. The Father of Jesus is the best gardener there is and he knows who will grow and who wont. And those who don’t, he destroys. Christless Christians playing at Churchianity do not, and will not, bear good fruit, so will be destroyed.
