mikehill4jesus “Jesus confronts Selfish Christians who continue to Sin”
9th November 2017 (30.32) My .mp3 audio Podcast linked to this Blog
Selfish Christians who believe there is a God whom operates as a Father, Son, and Holy Spirit
However, they have not been taught the important Doctrines connected to the Gospel of Jesus Christ and sin of their selfishness. They join a Church and simply follow the Leadership of that Church. Now that’s fine if they are being taught correctly, but if we can believe our many experiences, many are not.
For a Minister such as myself, it is almost impossible to have an effect on these Christians. No matter that the Holy Spirit is in control of the situation, their unbelief and selfishness remain.
So why does the Holy Spirit still urge me to continue?
Well, read and study the following Bible Verses and Testimony to the truth. The problem is, how shall we win souls wholly to Christ? Certainly we must win them away from themselves. And I will teaching on this over the coming Blogs.
The Lord Jesus said in, Revelation 3:19 Those whom I love I rebuke and discipline. So be earnest and repent.
An Apostle wrote to true Believers in, Hebrews 12:6
because the Lord disciplines the one he loves,
and he chastens everyone he accepts as his son.’ [Prov. 3:11,12]
7 Endure hardship as discipline; God is treating you as his children. For what children are not disciplined by their father? 8 If you are not disciplined – and everyone undergoes discipline – then you are not legitimate, not true sons and daughters at all. 9 Moreover, we have all had human fathers who disciplined us and we respected them for it. How much more should we submit to the Father of spirits and live! 10 They disciplined us for a little while as they thought best; but God disciplines us for our good, in order that we may share in his holiness. 11 No discipline seems pleasant at the time, but painful. Later on, however, it produces a harvest of righteousness and peace for those who have been trained by it.
The danger of reinforcing the Evildoing that is in A Christian Church
Inadvertently or not, are you helping and encouraging people to disobey the teachings of the Lord Jesus.
John 14:23 Jesus replied, ‘Anyone who loves me will obey my teaching. My Father will love them, and we will come to them and make our home with them. 24 Anyone who does not love me will not obey my teaching. These words you hear are not my own; they belong to the Father who sent me.’
So often we see Professing Christians with little Biblical Education and Spiritual Experience – A baptism of the Holy Spirit – being placed into a leadership position. With the result that the Membership are not won for Christ through His true Gospel. Instead, they produce Christless Christians as described in John 14:24.
The Apostle Paul said to a young Apostle called Timothy.
1 Timothy 4:16 “Watch your life and doctrine closely. Persevere in them, because if you do, you will save both yourself and your hearers.”
[It’s very important to know that Timothy was not a newcomer to a Christian Church. He was a proven Believer of Jesus and had been baptised in the Holy Spirit and also had been given a Prophecy regarding his work in the true Body of Christ.]
1 Timothy 1 Paul, an apostle of Christ Jesus by the command of God our Saviour and of Christ Jesus our hope,
2 To Timothy my true son in the faith:
Grace, mercy and peace from God the Father and Christ Jesus our Lord.
[Timothy was proven to be a lover of Jesus (John 14:23) and had been given a spiritual and practical ministry to do by the Leaders of Christ’s Spiritual Body. NOT BY CHURCHIANITY]
Timothy Charged to Oppose False Teachers
3 As I urged you [not ordered] when I went into Macedonia, stay there in Ephesus so that you may command certain people not to teach false doctrines any longer 4 or to devote themselves to myths and endless genealogies. Such things promote controversial speculations rather than advancing God’s work—which is by faith. 5 The goal of this command is love, which comes from a pure heart and a good conscience and a sincere faith. 6 Some have departed from these and have turned to meaningless talk. 7 They want to be teachers of the law, but they do not know what they are talking about or what they so confidently affirm.
[That is the situation today in what we call “Churchianity”. Some may be saved, but they have started to disobey the teachings of Jesus given through the Holy Spirit of God.]
8 We know that the law is good if one uses it properly. 9 We also know that the law is made not for the righteous but for lawbreakers and rebels, the ungodly and sinful, the unholy and irreligious, for those who kill their fathers or mothers, for murderers, 10 for the sexually immoral, for those practicing homosexuality, for slave traders and liars and perjurers—and for whatever else is contrary to the sound doctrine 11 that conforms to the gospel concerning the glory of the blessed God, which he entrusted to me.
[An important note: Those we call the “Christless Christians” are not Believers acting in error, that is easy to do. but are impenitent sinners acting in selfish disobedience to the leadings of the Holy Spirit of God. (John 14:24)]
The Lord’s Grace to Paul
12 I thank Christ Jesus our Lord, who has given me strength, that he considered me trustworthy, appointing me to his service. 13 Even though I was once a blasphemer and a persecutor and a violent man, I was shown mercy because I acted in ignorance and unbelief. 14 The grace of our Lord was poured out on me abundantly, along with the faith and love that are in Christ Jesus.
[We who are used by God, have this history in our lives. Our life before we were saved by our Lord Jesus. That is why we understand the needs of lost souls and also of saved souls who lack the necessary teachings.]
15 Here is a trustworthy saying that deserves full acceptance: Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners—of whom I am the worst. 16 But for that very reason I was shown mercy so that in me, the worst of sinners, Christ Jesus might display his immense patience as an example for those who would believe in him and receive eternal life. 17 Now to the King eternal, immortal, invisible, the only God, be honour and glory for ever and ever. Amen.
The Charge to Timothy Renewed
18 Timothy, my son, I am giving you this command in keeping with the prophecies once made about you, so that by recalling them you may fight the battle well, 19 holding on to faith and a good conscience, which some have rejected and so have suffered shipwreck with regard to the faith. 20 Among them are Hymenaeus and Alexander, whom I have handed over to Satan to be taught not to blaspheme.
[Notice how serious all this is and please take it on board, that you also may be saved along with those you seek to help.]
John Chapter 14 is the key to salvation. John Chapter 14:23, not 24. Behaving as the Lord Jesus describes in verse 24 places you against God and as with Hymenaeus and Alexander, at the mercy of Satan. There is a limit to how long the Holy Spirit will confront you before He gives up.
To give you an example from my own life, I have added these WebPages. They are not aimed at obtaining your approval, for I already have the approval of God. But as a testimony to the truth of Pauls’ teaching given to Timothy.
I will explain more in my next Blog (God willing)
