Why do Liars call themselves Disciples of Jesus

6th May 2018 (13:10) mikehill4jesus “Why do Liars call themselves Disciples of Jesus?” In my podcast

John 14:23 Jesus replied, ‘Anyone who loves me will obey my teaching. My Father will love them, and we will come to them and make our home with them. 24 Anyone who does not love me will not obey my teaching. These words you hear are not my own; they belong to the Father who sent me.’

Disobedience against the Commands of the Lord Jesus is not new!

Charles Finney: No man, saint or sinner, should be left by us to rest or be quiet in the indulgence of any sin. No one should be allowed to entertain the hope of heaven, if we can prevent it, who lives in the indulgence of known sin in any form. Our constant demand and persuasion should be, “Be ye holy, for God is holy.” “Be ye perfect, even as your Father in heaven is perfect.” Let us remember the manner in which Christ concludes His memorable Sermon on the Mount. After spreading out those awfully searching truths before His hearers, and demanding that they should be perfect, as their Father in heaven was perfect, He concludes by assuring them that no one could be saved who did not receive and obey His teachings. Instead of attempting to please our people in their sins, we should continually endeavour to hunt and persuade them out of their sins. Brethren, let us do it, as we would not have our skirts defiled with their blood. If we pursue this course and constantly preach with unction and power, and abide in the fullness of the doctrine of Christ, we may joyfully expect to save ourselves and them that hear us.

An introduction to true Christianity – John 14:23 NOT 24.

Veteran British filmmaker Philip Saville directs the religious epic The Gospel of John: a production of the Canadian company Visual Bible International. This three-hour drama attempts to accurately follow the Gospel According to John| written sometime during the first century. The gospel contains four segments: an introduction to the nature of Jesus Christ; testimony by disciples and the presence of miracles; the Last Supper and crucifixion; and the appearance of the risen Christ. Henry Ian Cusick plays Jesus and Christopher Plummer provides voice-over narration. The Gospel of John was shown in a special presentation at the 2003 Toronto Film Festival.
The Gospel of John was written two generations after the crucifixion of Jesus Christ. It is set in a time when the Roman Empire controlled Jerusalem. Although crucifixion was the preferred Roman method of punishment, it was not one sanctioned by Jewish law. Jesus and all his early followers were Jewish. The Gospel reflects a period of unprecedented polemic and antagonism between the emerging church and the religious establishment of the Jewish people.

The Teachings of Jesus have been around a very long time

The giving of the Ten Commandment Law (Ex. 20, some provide the date of 1445 for the giving of the law). It’s amazing that 1500 years after having the Law given to them there were many Jews who were Impenitent Jewish Leaders at the time Jesus was born. Even more amazing, 2000 years after being taught by Jesus, there are still Impenitent Sinners describing themselves as Christian Leaders. The exact number of years is not important as I am simply showing how many years people can be Impenitent Sinners ignoring Spiritual Teaching from God.

There are difficulties when we talk about Praying for Spiritual Revival, as Church Christian’s have been doing for many years:

1. Who is doing the praying?
2. The putting emphasis on God to revive Christianity and pressurising Him to do it.
3. The various causes, including unbelief, of having a selfish desire for the Revival.
4. The failure of the Sinner to end their unbelief and selfishness. But instead forming new Denominations and
Organisations – Churchianity. Seeking like-minded Religious people instead of Spiritually reborn people.

5. The putting of education and understanding before a need to obtain the Baptism of the Holy Spirit –
Biblianity.

6. The fight between the will of the Human against the will of God in the person of the Holy Spirit – the
persecution of the Spiritual Body of Christ – which is led by God in the Person of the Lord Jesus Christ.

7. The practice of constantly repairing the House built on Sand instead of rebuilding the house on Rock.
8. The relationship of the Lost Soul and of God – John 14:24.
9. The true Christian, John 14:23, still living on bread and milk unable to be fed solid food.
10. Last but not least – Unspiritual Human Beings acting as judges over those who have been Baptised by the Holy Spirit of God and having the Spiritual Gifts only He can give a person or group.

A truly helpful film – The Life of Jesus

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2mgUPt2KI08

I will be using this Film over the coming months to raise various topics that need to be learnt. So you can watch the Film and it will help you to see the issues that you need to consider. You can also read your Bible, but with the film bringing it to life. It is very important to see that True Christianity involves having God living with you, rather than having the Bible in your brain.

John 14:23 Jesus replied, ‘Anyone who loves me will obey my teaching. My Father will love them, and we will come to them and make our home with them. 24 Anyone who does not love me will not obey my teaching. These words you hear are not my own; they belong to the Father who sent me.’

{and we will come to them and make our home with them}

Without this Baptism of the Holy Spirit, you will never become a True Christian!

There are many versions of the Bible, but don’t let that put you off. I myself use several versions. Many Christians devote a lot of time and effort arguing about what the Bible means. My hope with you, is that you will let the Holy Spirit of God guide you into the truth and empower you to fall in love with the Lord Jesus and let His teachings and commands be your guide along the Narrow Road to Heaven.

With myself, it has been 70 years, and I am still learning.
