John 14:23 Jesus replied, ‘Anyone who loves me will obey my teaching. My Father will love them, and we will come to them and make our home with them. 24 Anyone who does not love me will not obey my teaching. These words you hear are not my own; they belong to the Father who sent me.’
16th May 2018, was my 74th Birthday. When I was 4 the Lord Jesus showed himself to me in a Salvation Army Hall, long closed, at Red Lion Road, Surbiton, Surrey, England.
True Christianity is about more than having Bible Knowledge, it’s about a life lived in Christ Jesus the Lord through the power of the Holy Spirit of God. It’s about having our own personal “Pentecost” experience.
2 Corinthians 2:14-17 New International Version – UK (NIVUK)
14 But thanks be to God, who always leads us as captives in Christ’s triumphal procession and uses us to spread the aroma of the knowledge of him everywhere. 15 For we are to God the pleasing aroma of Christ among those who are being saved [John 14:23] and those who are perishing [John 14:24]. 16 To the one we are an aroma that brings death; to the other, an aroma that brings life. And who is equal to such a task? 17 Unlike so many, we do not peddle the word of God for profit. On the contrary, in Christ we speak before God with sincerity, as those sent from God.
I am also a Witness for my Lord Jesus, as described by the Apostle Paul, purely because He and His Father have made their home with me, John 14:23 – God the Holy Spirit is the undeniable proof of that.
A real life not one fabricated by those Christless Christians heading for destruction! Many of whom are well meaning but still fighting against the Holy Spirit of God who is striving to lead them to Jesus Christ and his Gospel of Salvation.
Sadly, there are those who claim to be as the Apostle Paul describes in 2 Corinthians 2:14-17, but are not, because they are as the Lord Jesus describes in John 14:24. They do not have the Holy Spirit of God.
Today is the day many Christian Churches, true Disciples or false, celebrate the Festival of Pentecost. The Christian festival celebrating the descent of the Holy Spirit on the disciples of Jesus after his Ascension, held on the seventh Sunday after Easter.
This is what A W Tozer said about Pentecost:
When Pentecost Came
As we read the New Testament, we find a very simple, very plain, and very forceful truth: the Holy Spirit makes a difference! Consider the early disciples; Jesus Himself had taught them for more than three years—the greatest Bible school! But still He had to caution them and encourage them not to depend on their own wisdom and strength: “Tarry ye . . . until ye be endued with power from on high” (Luke 24:49b). He promised that they would receive the Person of the Holy Spirit to carry out His plan of world evangelization. After Pentecost, the Spirit brought them a new and vivid consciousness of the actual presence of God. He gave them the gifts of divine joy and peace. He gave them great and continuing delight in prayer and communion with God! Finally, we recall that before Pentecost, the disciples could only ask questions. After Pentecost, throughout the record in the book of Acts, they stood in the authority of the Spirit and answered all of the questions of the people concerning God’s plan of salvation through the crucified and risen Christ!
This is what Charles Finney said about Pentecost from his book Power from on High:
How the practice of Sinning stops you having your own personal Pentecost
Last and greatest, by unbelief. He prays for this Enduement without expecting to receive it. “He that believeth not God, hath made Him a liar.” This, then, is the greatest sin of all. What an insult, what a blasphemy, to accuse God of lying!
I was obliged to conclude that these and other forms of indulged sin explained why so little is received, while so much is asked. I said I had not time to present the other side. Some of the brethren afterward inquired, “What is the other side?” The other side presents the certainty that we shall receive the promised Enduement of power from on high, and be successful in winning souls, if we ask, and fulfil the plainly revealed conditions of prevailing prayer. Observe, what I said upon the Lord’s Day was upon the same subject, and in addition to what I had previously said. The misapprehension alluded to was this: If we first get rid of all these forms of sin, which prevent our receiving this Enduement, have we not already obtained the blessing? What more do we need?
Answer. There is a great difference between the peace and the power of the Holy Spirit in the soul. The disciples were Christians before the Day of Pentecost, and, as such, had a measure of the Holy Spirit. They must have had the peace of sins forgiven, and of a justified state, but yet they had not the Enduement of power necessary to the accomplishment of the work assigned them. They had the peace which Christ had given them, but not the power which He had promised. This may be true of all Christians, and right here is, I think, the great mistake of the Church, and of the ministry. They rest in conversion, and do not seek until they obtain this Enduement of power from on high. Hence so many professors have no power with either God or man. They prevail with neither. They cling to a hope in Christ, and even enter the ministry, overlooking the admonition to wait until they are endued with power from on high. But let anyone bring all the tithes and offerings into God’s treasury, let him lay all upon the altar, and prove God herewith, and he shall find that God “will open the windows of heaven, and pour him out a blessing that there shall not be room enough to receive it.”

The World is full of people giving teaching about Pentecost, you just have to look for it. However, my aim today is to show you how my “Pentecost” happened. How did Mike Hill come to be Baptised by the Holy Spirit to do what God wants Mike Hill to do.
I am forced to add, that sadly, in my 74 years, I have not had the friendship of many whom profess to be Christian – less than a handful and none today. The reasons are many. But I am not here to point you to them, I am here to point to the Lord Jesus who has brought me out of the Curse of John 14:24 ‘Anyone who does not love me will not obey my teaching.’ and into the Blessing of John 14:23 Jesus replied, ‘Anyone who loves me will obey my teaching. My Father will love them, and we will come to them and make our home with them.’ He made it clear that it was his Father who said this through Him, Jesus, ‘These words you hear are not my own; they belong to the Father who sent me.’
So what does John 8:36 ‘So if the Son [Jesus] sets you free, you will be free indeed.’ mean?
70 years of truly utter amazement Christian Experience that has been witnessed by many, both friend and foe.
My prayer is that you may allow the Holy Spirit to lead you to the Spiritual help you may need. I will never turn anyone away who is being led by God to obtain my help for I am a Servant of the Lord and of Humankind. I have been commanded to give the Lord Jesus complete ownership of Me. To give Him first claim on my time.
The promises of ‘Jesus’ in whom there is no sin and who never lies but can be totally trusted.
Luke 15:10 In the same way, I tell you, there is rejoicing in the presence of the angels of God over one sinner who repents.’
John 6:37 All those the Father gives me will come to me, and whoever comes to me I will never drive away.
